This movie was actually inspired from the real life story of 19 year old grenadier Yogender singh yadav ..this happened during kargil war and inspite of the injuries and continuous firing he climbed 1000ft vertical cliff of tiger hill and killed 4 enemies with hand granade.he was also hit with 3 bullets and also attacked another bunker.he was later conferred with paramveer chakra by Indian govt.

The song 'main aisa kyun hun' is basically depicting iner conflict Hritik's character is going through thinking why is he different from all other people who are in colour in the song and he is in black and white (indicating he is different) . The song is not a "bollywood" music video but adds to the plot of the movie.

My brother captin prem kumar patil was so confused for future career he watch this movie he watched this movie and he found out his aim (lakshya) he struggled a lot without telling us to get in to Army finally selected .... he get Shadat (martyrdom) on 7th aug 2015 , we proud of him very much ........ some one said before people sacrifice to gain and independence but it is true that so many more sacrifice their lifes to protect this freedom for 75 years.. The pain we are suffering from is more than a money fame or anything else, with whom did i get grown sometime i suddenly woke up in night and found out he he not around that is painful, please do not take this freedom as granted

The next Hrithik Roshan film you should put in line is the 2012 Agneepath (remake of the Amitabh Bachchan Agneepath). Probably do a dual review of both together, if possible. I'm in the minority of liking the remake more a little bit. The remake has Priyanka, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri, and even Pankaj Tripathi.

Fun Fact! Almost all Farhan Akhtar movie's music is always hinting towards his next move. The music when they are climbing the the cliff, is essentially ROCK ON! In Rock On! the title song has "Zindagi na milegi dobara" (debra) In ZNMD(Debra) there's a song "dil dhadakne do" In Dil Dhadakne Do there's a reference of Dil Chahata Hai while Narrating, by Amir himself.

hello rick and Korbin, been ur fan since u both started reacting to Indian trailers. Just wanted to put across some of my thoughts about y this movie flopped when it got released. This is one of my fav movie since the time I watched it the 1st time and I was surprised to know that many did not like this movie. Then i realized y... when the movie trailer released v saw a different looking hrithik especially his "college life" that was shown - and many related to his aimless life including me as I was in college myself when the movie released and I was somewhat similar to him being in that situation... now I mentioned "different looking hrithik". in bollywood during those times hero's "looks" use to be a factor of how different a hero is going to act from his previous roles he played.. so his college time look and the way he played that role was not the same hrithik we saw him playing in his previous movies so that was the "X factor" for many to watch the movie and also "mey aisa kyu hu" song already blew away everybody's mind with his cool moves.. now the thing is everybody expected the movie to be light hearted and mostly his college life story that would be shown as the main concept of the movie, but nobody expected it to be 80% war movie. so the disappointment factor for many was that battle field was shown more than his college life and instead of being a light hearted movie it turned out to be a serious war movie. so that i feel was a shocker for those college going young students of then which was majority of crowd going to watch that movie. but I loved the movie especially the way war scenes were shot..

Yes Lakshya is one of Hrithik's best performance, but for me Hrithik's best performance so far is Guzaarish. You should watch that movie. It was a world class performance. Brother, India celebrated its 75th Independence Day! Not 74th. How can you compare this with someone's age, basic maths! When we calculate someone's age, the year of birth is not counted, because he/she will turn 1 year, the next year. But when we calculate independence day, we should remember that the first year is counted. So a person born in 1947 will celebrate his/her 74th birthday, and India celebrated it's 75th Independence Day!!

This is the most technical film ever in bollywood whn it comes for war films. Shershah is too Dharma productions if you compare it with this classic.
