I love how instead of the cliché conflict of the first child immediately feeling jealous of their new sibling, we get almost the complete opposite here. Hikari loves his baby sister so much that he already tries to take responsibility for her; but it’s to the point where he winds up giving too much and making himself sick. He really takes after his Ma-cha in being selfless to a fault.

I'm glad that Masaki and Hiromu are written to be kind and wise parents. Asian families are a bit infamous for the strict parenting that comes with high expectations and loads and loads of emotional damage. Hikari has two strong and kind guides that tell him what he can and can't do and they don't scold him harshly for his actions. If only such parenting is applied to all Asian families...

The Koinobori (those fish windsocks) are in celebration of children's day in Japan typically May 5th. Also doubles as end of Golden Week which has multiple holidays from April to May. So here they're celebrating Hikari since it's usually for boys ( Hinamatsuri or Girls Day is on March 3rd so they might do something for Hinata)

I love the mom isn't creepy like her husband. She's a good mother-in-law who seems to love her son and his family. Also, it's adorable seeing Hikari being a big brother. He's trying so hard to make his little sister Hina comfortable and feel loved. But, I like how his fathers are trying to get him to understand to pull back a bit and not forget about himself. They love Hiakri and Hina equally. They love them as much as they love each other. It's ok for Hikari to love and cherish his sister but, there are some things he should leave to his parents.
