Unfortunately her style and tone of singing is not what mainstream promotes, it's all about that generic pop sound. If Lalah had been born during the jazz era she would've definitely been a bigger artists. Nevertheless, fame isn't really all that it doesn't determine how talented and gifted you are either. More than half of the biggest artists some being "icons" are average or below, the days of just being talented is over, everything is cookie cutter image. You have to love what you do, grow and nuture your gift, and just appreciate those who value and enjoy what you have to offer. Real validation comes from within, not from how many records sales and how popular you are in the world.
