Hello friends, this is Doug Payne of Doug Payne & Polygon. I had the chance to meet Lalah at the 2015 Marian Anderson Awards held in Philly. I told her that I attended her father's memorial service held at Rankin Chapel when I was a music student at Howard University. I remember when Stevie Wonder sent a beautiful acknowledgement to Donnie. She laughed when I told her that the music professors at Howard were tough on us because of the success of their former students Donnie & Roberta.

FACTS💯💯Donny is the ONLY EXCEPTION to the rule: The bass and drums are the cool kids of the band. All the girls walked past the bass and drums to Donny thinking HE was Rick (the lead of the Rick Powell Trio, who was actually on drums😄😄)😂😂😂 #OnlyHim

Love how Lalah uses her gift and sets it free in her musical expression. Artistry is so much better than simply being a singer in the music industry. Never compromise on your passion. Thank you👏👏💖

Liked her for years, but hadn't heard a lot of her work. Finally got her debut album, and it sounded great---it has a nice jazz influence in some songs. Cool to see how grounded and down-to-earth she is, too. Always thought she should have been a bigger name, talented as she is, but she seems cool with just being who she is, which is even cooler.

He got two prime seating tickets to see her show. Out of town in a destination type city. All expenses paid! I am an adoring fan who wld love to focus ALL my attention on EVERY sound Lalah has to communicate- y'all dig whud I'm sayin? Then I'll want to marinate in it.... let my memory perculate the testimony I just received. Sooooo my problem is when he'll want to interrupt because he kinda needs the world to revolve around him. 1) suggest he use the ticket with someone who feels he hung the moon? 2) excuse myself as she takes the stage and watch from some obscure place? 3) get a second job and buy my own ticket? 4) slip him a Mickey and wake him when its over?
@alondathomas2934 жыл бұрын
Just watch the show and have fun, lol. No slipping nobody anything, though, lolo.
