When i was in school, my teachers had us in lab the first day of school. And we had 4 labs a week. And every friday the 2mths before we started clinicals, they tested us on out knowledge of the machine. And the last 2 weeks of those 2 mths, we had to do a competency test for both labs. One competency was on the controls of the machine and physics and the other competency is us actually scanning anatomy (we had to check off on doing a complete abdominal ultrasound). They did this so that we were familiar with the basics of the machine before we started our clinicals. Let me tell you, it was frustrating at first because it was alot to take in. But i was glad, especially when i started my clinicals.

Omg. The nostalgia for school. We had those machines when i went to school. And when i and all my classmates were scanning in our labs for the first week of school, we were so nervous and confused. I thought i was gonna break something or mess up the settings. I had one classmate who would have a bad habit of taking the probe off the patient to type on the machine and measure. 😂 my teacher stood there and held his hand with the probe on the patient for 2 whole labs so he can never forget to not remove the probe unless he absolutely had to.

Hi! For patient registration you have to make sure you input all of the information and select register! If you don't it'll create an extra account. It takes some finessing but it doesn't create an issue. Hopefully your system is easy to fix/ transfer!

Is it common that the few that are selected often back out or don’t want to do it & it leaves a spot open? I’ve been wanting to do this for almost a year & they picked 8 students & I wasn’t one of them. She did say that if two students didn’t do it I could take their spot. I just don’t know what to feel right now.
@lolgeselle3 жыл бұрын
It is very common. I was on the "alternate list" and I made it on after someone dropped out! So it definitely matters! It's a good sign. I know it's hard right now, but keep your head up. There are always second and third chances. DO things to help your situation, like volunteer, study, focus on the end goal. Stay PAWSitive and even ask the program director or committee what you can do to improve your chances next time. 8 students is not a lot. And we all know it's super competitive. But what matters is when we fall down, we get back up. And never lose sign of your WHY. Don't put yourself down too hard, 8 people is truly truly sooo small! You can do this if you really want it!
