London ki Lali

3 жыл бұрын

After befriending a food vlogger; Haloodiefoodie / haloodiefoodie
I accept the invitation to attend Zuhr prayer at the Aziziye Masjid in Stoke Newington. Thinking that it would be fraudulent to attend without fasting I attempt to eat no food and no water from sunrise to sunset.

This is so good to see you do! Thank you for trying and also you did so well, we all struggle the first few days especially if we are used to caffeine in our diets... it takes a few days and then your body adjusts and starts to feel normal and becomes easy. Even with kids... just the lack of sleep when kids are small... does make it a little harder but... it’s such a beautiful time... family comes together, sits together.. enjoys each other’s company, refreshes our mind set and gives us time for reflection. Something we forget in our usual busy lives... Ramadan comes to detox not only the body but the soul.

How you can enter inside a mosque? Are you a muslim? please don't take it otherwise. Let me clear one thing. I born in a hindu family but I dont have any strong belief in any God. But one year ago when I was traveling at assam I entered into a mosque just to take a look inside the mosque and it was the first time I visited any mosque. But when I entered into the mosque there was two man. They asked me that "Am I new in this area". I told them yes I am just a traveler then they asked my name. After listening my name they become very angry and rudely told me to go outside and told me not to go inside again. I didnt say them any thing because it seems that they were ready to hit me. After that I decided that I will never go to any mosque. That's why I am asking this. And one more thing I have visite hindu, buddhist, sikh temples, churches of several Christian denominations but never found this kind of behavior earlier. Even being a person living in north eastern India I have a lot of christian friends and I have visited many churches along them but never found this type of attitude.

Salaam, Lali. My friend HaloodieFoodie sent me the link to your vlog. I really enjoyed watching it and have shared the link with my mum (asking her to send it to her friends), as well as my own friends. I’ve subscribed too! Your vlog has made me smile and I really hope you are proud of making it through not just one but two fasts! It’s amazing how the human body can cope without food and water and when you know it’s all off limits (hello, caffeine?!), you quickly learn to adjust and manage without. Seriously, well done! You’ve gone above and beyond. The past two Ramadans have been marred by covid sadly and personally I have felt very isolated and lonely - normally we would all be able to together with others over iftar. I hope next year we will be living in better times and that you will be able to experience this. On a separate note, I’m sorry about your grandmother - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Such a lovely, well thought out and heartfelt message. Thank you so much! I'm glad it made you smile! Actually I got weirdly used to not having any tea and then forgot that I actually drank it until recently haha!! Its amazing as you said what the body gets used to relatively quickly! I'll try fasting one more time before Eid! :) Enjoy the rest of Ramadan!

U can't put away too much at iftar bcz ur stomach as been shrinking all day. Eat yoghurt before u start, it helps with the thirst (probably more than drinking gallons of water. It's a month of charity, of empathy and of mental and physical detox. U really let the small stuff go in normal years, the evening vibe of Ramadan is really awesome. Some use as a way of getting in shape. I personally start with a quarter grilled chicken, salad, fruit and yoghurt. I end the fast with dates, fruit and mainly liquids. I will eat another quarter piece of grilled chicken with salad an hour or two later. I get healthy protein, low fat, fibre and vitamins. By the months end- without any visits to the gym- i lose a stone 😁 which is good coz Eid at the end of Ramadan is an absolute feast like Xmas only u visit everyone and you are fed everywhere you go. The lack of alcohol in Muslim cultures mean that food is a big part of communal life and socialising. Of course Muslim cultures are diverse so the food dishes available is an absolutly epic world kitchen. South American dishes, European favourites, North African, African, Middle Eastern, Asian, North Asian, South east asian, Far East Asian and so many foods that have taken a halal twist.

Salam & Peace. I pray you find solace in your time of grief and loss: to God we belong and unto He alone do we return. Unfortunately the only thing left taboo in public these days are words and deeds of devotion to God. I don’t know if you believe in a Creator, but it’s refreshing to see someone find the courage to participate in an act of piety and devotion for a higher purpose. Much respect for creating some transparency about the Muslim practise in Ramadhan and making your own experience quite public, while it was apparent that you experienced something of the private sincerity fasting evokes. One verse in the Quran reads, “Fasting has been prescribed for you, just as fasting was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain piety.” May we all find ease and peace in the pursuit of virtue and piety. Ameen God bless you.

I went and liked the other video. You should feel proud that you respect all cultures regardless of what those disapproving followers think. You did the right thing.

We believe in Islam that there is no God except Allah and Muhammad PBUH is his messenger. The word Allah means The God, one and only. And we believe Muhammed PBUH was the final messenger sent by God to guide mankind. In Islam we believe God sent many messengers to guide mankind, these were special people who were purified to remind people about their purpose and righteousness. We believe in his messengers which include Ibrahim (Abraham) Moses (Musa) Dawud (David) Yusuf (Joseph), any many others they're all mentioned in the Holy Quran. We also believe in the previous scriptures of God books like the Zabur and Injeel (The bible and Old Testament). And no Muslim can be a Muslim if they don't accept Esa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of Mary) a messiah of God sent to inform and be a guide to the earlier nation/people . Christian's refer to our God (Allah) as 'The Father', so that's why you may have heard Muslims and Christians ( and Jews) believe in the same God. However the main difference is only in the belief and status of Jesus (Esa) alayhi salam, as it is our belief he was sent by God as a righteous messenger just like l Muhammad (peace be upon him) but they were not God. So when muslims pray, we don't pray to or ask help from Muhammed (SAW) or Jesus (AS), but we ask Allah. N.B -PBUH/SAW= Peace be upon him/Salalah Alayhis Wasalaam -AS- Upon him peace/Alayhis Salaam If you look in the bible Jesus also prayed and fasted and gave charity, and if Jesus was God he can't have been praying to himself, if so to who? ofcourse he was praying to Allah meaning God, the one we all need and pray to when we need help Our belief of God is he whom is unique and above his creation. We are his creation need him and he needs no one. We recognise Allah by his attributes, and its our belief that we cannot fathom or imagine how he looks as he is too magnanimous. It's impossible to actually imagine him right now while we're still alive and in our moral bodies that's what is our belief. We believe he is the one who gives life and death. He is the one who controls everything I know youve already said that your not really a follower of any specific religion but I just still wanted to say what I wanted to say I was sad to hear about your gran. passing 💔, but I hope you stay positive and strong InshaAllah

First of all, eat meat full before sunrise and then go to sleep after sunrise go to the toilet to freshen up, then do not eat anything throughout the day but as soon as sunset comes your heart will do as many times as you want. Eat meat, have you also fasted in this method Happy Ramadan
