One of the best films of the 1970's with one of the great music scores of its time. It's a shame that most people don't even know that this flick was even made.

I agree. It's a cute and bittersweet movie, with great actors - and an absolutely amazing jazzy and rich Schifrin score! I was dying to get hold of it somehow until finally the album was released (I guess ten or fifteen years ago).

This came out when I was four, so obviously I didn't see it then and I never even heard about it. It's one of the many films I ended up watching in my teens when it came on TV late at night and I became totally obsesse with it. This was before we even had a VHS player and I had no way of renting it. I just had to wait till it randomly came on tv again.

Saw this film as a kid at our small town theater that in summer showed double feature matinees for the price of 2 cans of food. Saw some good films: The Brass Bottle, The Other, Legend of Hell House, Jack the Giant Killer, & Run Wild, Run Free, to name a few.Great daycare for my parents, & along w/some other kids had most of the theater to ourselves. Since burned down, which is sad: it was one of the old style theaters where a red velvet curtain opened before each movie. Those were the days.

The footage has a few establishing shots of Seattle (a Seattle bus, the downtown monorail, an iconic Seattle building in the Pioneer Square district, etc), interspersed mostly with shots on the streets of Victoria, British Columbia. These include Bastion Square, Trounce Alley, the BC Legislature Building, and other Victoria locations. The aerial "Seattle" ferry shot is actually a BC Ferry - the name "Queen of Victoria" is clearly legible on the side near the bow.

I first saw this movie right around the time I read Oliver Twist, so the whole technique of pickpocketing fascinated me soon after. The cynical side of me wondered how anyone could not feel something be taken from their pocket. Then one day at school, the nurse (who was both pretty and had a rep for being mischievous) lifted the wallet of a male teacher - playfully, a sly grin on her face, with several of us in class witnessing it but not saying anything at first. When he didn't notice right away, the nurse asked if he could spot her a few dollars for lunch. Reaching for his wallet and realizing it wasn't there, he exclaimed, "Wait! Where did it..." His voice trailed off when the nurse reached into her pocket and pulled out his wallet! Lol We student's erupted in laughter as she returned it with a smirk and a wink of her eye at us. Impressed, I thought to myself: "Apparently it can happen!" 😏😈

Excellent music and clip compilation George. After the Dirty Harry/Budd 1:13 percussion, Mr. Schifrin's upbeat nod to Jerry's "The Last Run" 1:27 Apparently, when filming in Seattle, Washington the then-mayor, Wes Uhlman contributed to a cameo appearance.

Once upon a time there was an America where americans dressed and look nice and not overweight, behave politely, where dress code and cultural manners was included in public places and where life look nice and peaceful.
elements of this track are similar to Schifrin's "The Wig", which was on his Marquis de Sade album...

I've always wondered why people put stuff in their butt pocket?? I've never found it comfortable, convenient, or necessary. I wonder if this was pushed by pick-pockets somehow? You know, iPhones hanging half-way out of butt cheek pockets, etc..etc..
