As a chiefs fan, I thought the Ravens made the right calls most of the time, though I confess to an imperfect knowledge of the sport. Harbaugh has come under fire for being overly aggressive, but how else are you supposed to fight KC at home? With the exception of one of his 2-point conversions, I basically agreed with every call he made. Likewise, I figure Jackson played pretty well. He had to put up two prayers just to keep the score close, it's true... but the list of other QBs who would have stayed on their feet long enough to even offer up those prayers is pretty short. I figure Baltimore has nowhere to go but up from here, barring injury. If they rematch KC in the playoffs, it'll likely be the most exciting match of the year.

Here’s what’s scary: Lamar has made all this passing improvement, and is on pace for 5,000 all purpose yards and 40 all purpose tds (doubt he pulls that off but still). He’s only 22. Imagine what he’ll pull off at 28 at this trajectory. Hollywood Brown, only 22. Marlon Humphrey, Zeus and Andrews, 23. Baltimore is gonna have ten draft picks next year, including 2 thirds and fourths. With resigning the likely free agents (Onwuasor, Judon, Pierce, Gus, Snead) id imagine they’ll be looking at 40 million in free cap space. And trust me, they’ve got DeCosta, Harbaugh, and Ozzie Newsome advising as well, they’ll use that stuff wisely. Kansas City is already set for the future, but their team is about as good as Mahomes will get them since they are allegedly planning on giving him $40 million per year after this season, so their cap situation is gonna be a bit tight unlike Baltimore, but having the MVP will offset that. Last Sunday wasn’t just a game, it was a showcase of the AFC’s future.

Everyone has harping on the fact that he ran for 1600 yards in each of he 2 seasons at Louisville but they seldom mention that he threw for 3500 and 3600 yards also. And about a quarter of his passes were dropped by his recievers. I can only think of one reason why he was drafted that low. I have no comprehension why people thought he couldn't throw. Maybe they thought he was to good to be true. Bill Polian said he should switch to receiver and way to many people echoed that rhetoric. Why? Why?

Scotty Haines he’s played through 3 full games. He’s in his third year and you’re saying he’s injury prone just because of one season where he played fewer than 8 games, but he played 13 full games in his rookie season. Minshew is setting franchise rookie records, but even if he’s not, you’re already calling for a change in offensive coordinator over 3 games? I’ll give you the fact that the coaches don’t want any runningback other than fournette, but I’ll have to disagree with you on everything else
@scottyhaines4226
@scottyhaines4226 4 жыл бұрын
@@Cardiaccat98 Fournette has missed 13 games the previous 2 years and countless more in college as well. So yes he's injury prone. He always has leg and shoulder injuries. I wouldn't ever use him as a feature back with that track record. I'd use him for 4th quarters and goal line situations and nothing else. I can't trust using him as a primary back with all the times he's been hurt and him being that huge doesn't help his longevity either.
@ifheavenwashuman
@ifheavenwashuman 4 жыл бұрын

@Cardiaccat98
@Cardiaccat98 4 жыл бұрын
Scotty Haines a majority of those 13 games he missed came from last year, where he missed all but 4-6 games. He played nearly the whole season his first year. And you’d only use a runningback for goal line situations for that reason only? Injury prone or not, that is a terrible waste of a roster spot to just use a player for less than 10 snaps a game. Fournette had many games where, when healthy, was one of the most dominant backs of the nfl. Many players could be known as injury prone prior to the draft, yet be one of the more durable players of the nfl. Just ask the other jaguars player, Myles jack, who missed I think an entire season prior to being drafted, has not missed a game. If I’m wrong about fournette and he misses 4+ games this season, I’ll be the first to say I stand corrected. But to say he’s injury prone over just one season, and even two, is just a wrong statement to say in my opinion. Also, fournette has missed 11 games in the nfl, not 13. One game he missed because of disciplinary issues, a game he was actually healthy for. Therefore, he missed only two games in his rookie season due to injury, and missed the other 8 in his second year. That’s like saying fournette was a dominant back last game because he nearly had 100 yards against the titans, but he got almost all those yards in one run (yes, I’m calling fournette out on this game). It’s a true statement, but it’s misleading

He’s obviously regressed and with a full year of tape, teams have obviously slowed him down. But the main issue is the playcalling and lack of a WR1. Terrible play calls such as a QB draw on 3rd and long and Greg Roman giving up on what works hurts the team a lot. The only wr on the team that can catch, Willie Snead, struggles to get open on plays. Miles Boykin, Hollywood Brown, even Mark Andrews can’t catch a football to save their life. Not saying it’s not Lamar’s fault(part of the blame is on Lamar) but having no o-line, no decent WRs, and a terrible play caller hurt the offense a lot.

Lamar could never have a Mahomes type season because he isn’t anywhere near the player. Outside of running Mahomes is literally better than Lamar at every single facet of Quarterbacking. He has a better arm, he is far more accurate in the pocket, and even more so on the run. Mahomes is smarter, showcases a better ability to read defenses, and is more creative when the play breaks. They aren’t close, so no, this idea that people would criticize Lamar the same even if he threw for 50 tds 5K yards is stupid. They criticize him because he has a lot of issues. Great video! Is it just me or is the "Slot Fade" concept the longest lasting legacy of Baylor Football's golden years? Yeah RG III was fun and they stayed really balanced... but the thing that you see when watching the tape now is how effective they threw deep to slot receivers (either on a straight fade or a choice route). The fact that smart NFL teams are starting to realize that it is easier for qbs to hit a slot fade route than a corner route (as evidenced by the way the Ravens are using Jackson) is a prime example of how much the College game has pushed innovation in Pro football.

A Ravens fan who loves your videos. I wanted to ask if you thought it’d be worth an episode to talk about the 2014 AFC playoff game between the Ravens and the Patriots. Basically what I recall happening was the Ravens were lighting up the Pats with a 14 point lead in the half. Then coming into the 2nd half, the Pats ended up using some trickery that wasn’t technically illegal by the playbook but tiptoed on the line of it that ended up tearing apart the Ravens usually solid defense. It was a point of controversy for a bit and, if I’m remembering right, the rules got adjusted that off season that deemed what the Pats did illegal in the future. I can’t remember the type of play calling or what the Pats did exactly, but I thought it’d be an awesome video to break down and study.

Hes not, go rewatch even his highlights from Louisville to last year. At the Lou those were designed runs, they didn't have much talent around him so he was pretty much the entire offense (we can tell by the bad receiver he had vs Clemson). Last year the Ravens didnt get him many reps, he was originally third on the depth chart. They installed an overnight basic offense for him and have no since expanded it. His talent as a runner doesnt mean he wants to take off, it's just a skill set

After seeing him rush just three times in the Dolphins game I was thinking that maybe he had changed. But then the Cardinals and Chiefs played them close and Lamar went back to his old ways and now stands at 27 rushes on the season. You'd think somebody who practices next to RG3 would realize that this isn't a good path to go down . . .

KC defense will never be mistaken for great, but part of the issue there was them. They did a pretty good job of keeping Baltimore's receivers tied up with coverage long enough for their pass rush to hurry a throw, especially through the first part of the game. Shame they couldn't adjust to the run nearly as well... or bring Jackson down despite literally having him by the leg multiple times.
