@@jervelgarmon4845 ‘Elite’ is definitely the wrong word. They have potential but they’re obviously underperforming in spots that have nothing to do with the playcalling. The pass rush/pressure so far is not good and the LBs in pass coverage are lacking. That has a lot to do with losing guys like Clowney and Queen, who are much better than their replacements Oweh and Simpson. The secondary has been great overall (even though they’re the ones made to look bad by the stats) but Marcus Williams has been straight garbage all year, which is why he was benched last week for someone who’s obviously objectively not as good. He played better this game but still blew the coverage on a literal QB for their only TD. Hopefully he improves but I definitely agree with you that it isn’t Orr’s fault.

Teams have to pick their poison with the Ravens and most have decided “we’re going to load the box on the run game and make Lamar beat us through the air”. Lamar has responded by being absolutely unstoppable against defenses that aren’t showing him respect. Teams have to defend the Ravens with a balanced defense, loading the box just isn’t going to work.

Those 4th down attempts were because Payton smartly knew FGs weren’t going to cut it against the Ravens, and he was obviously right. It’s not like they were giving up the ball in their own territory. If they convert those, it’s a different story (they probably still don’t win), meaning the attempts (i.e. the coaching) wasn’t the problem but rather the lack of conversions.

You're not wrong about the 2 losses. The only thing that stopped the ravens against the Browns was the Ravens. Cleveland won, but they didn't beat the Ravens. The Ravens just couldn't get anything "right". Lamar still looked great, but his help was flat. The rematch will be a show for sure.

There's something I realized recently about predictions and it should have occurred to me a long time ago: more than half of them are wrong. People including some Dodger fans were saying fire Dave Roberts, they'll never win a championship in a 162 game season with him as manager and, of course, Choketober. Then Freddie swung at the first pitch and the Yankees had a horrible inning on defense. My advice will continue to be that people save receipts on their crystal balls.
