I noticed BAL made a conscious and deliberate decision to involve LJ in the DESIGNED running attack and get him rolling outside the pocket. They ran a ton more zone /option reads and this is the key to their success because it disrupts defensive keys. People don’t realize BAL has been top 3 rushing NFL since LJ has been starter including league leading 4x. This run game is fueled by LJ. With DH it just goes to another level, but you have to use LJs running ability, which they hadn’t been doing. And it’s not to have him go for 100 but it’s to make defenses respect and account for him potentially running EVERY play. Defenders were all over the place and it opened the run and pass game. If BAL doesn’t forget who they are, they have the best chance they’ve ever had to win it all.

This is what happens when let a dog be a dog and don’t try to turn him into something he’s not. BAL was deliberate in involving LJ in the running attack and doing that opens up the run game for everyone as well as the passing opportunity as defenders have to account for him running. It essentially makes BAL +1 in the math as teams account for him. It becomes true 11 on 11 instead of 10 on 11 with a traditional non running threat at QB. Just look at how off balance the D was every time LJ handed it off as they don’t know if he’s keeping it or not.
