Lamar Jackson describes the Baltimore Ravens mood as 'mad' after they fall to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship. Everything pointed to this being the Ravens' year, including a spectacular regular season, and yet once again, Lamar seemed to be unable to rise to the occasion in the playoffs, and was outplayed by Patrick Mahomes. Craig Carton is joined by Willie Colon and Mark Schlereth to decide what went wrong for the Ravens in this loss.

The Int by Lamar was NOT called as a PI, because the contact happened behind the defensive player who intercepted. That little contact had no impact on that play because it was intercepted. It is the same with a tipped ball during a pass, there are no defensive penalties called because no matter the call, the ball is tipped and there is no definate target. Good NO CALL.

His struggles in the playoffs is directly related to teams turning him into a pocket QB. His struggles are epic and some of the worst in playoff history. As he ages his athleticism will go down but his ability to read coverages and accuracy will be below average. Watch Mahomes when rushed vs Lamar. Lamar immediately looks down to see a running lane where Mahomes senses the pressure but keeps his eyes downfield.

It's like Groundhog Day, or rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, or watching re-runs of Lucy pulling the ball away from Charlie Brown. Year. After Year. After year. And as bad as Lamar was, and he stunk, to only run the ball SIX TIMES using your top RBs, and not even use Dalvin Cook, who looked explosive last week, is inexcusable. The Chiefs one weakness was their run D. And the Ravens failed to even try to exploit that There is something wrong with the Ravens coaching brain trust and it rears its ugly head every year. It's exhausting. OTOH...the Chiefs and Mahomes took care of business, especially Spags. He had the answers to the Ravens who, in turn, had no answers and no adjustments whatsoever.
