Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop touched millions of lives from 1957 to 1998 while airing across NBC, CBS, and PBS networks. The show came to an end when founder and creator Shari Lewis died in 1998 from uterine cancer. "When mom died, I got a lot of letters from people saying, I'm so sorry mom passed. Is Lamb Chop dead too?" said Mallory Lewis, Shari's daughter. LX News Storyteller Cody Broadway searches for the iconic puppet and uncovers a story about the undying power of childhood magic.

I was born in 1989 and I watched Lamb Chop as a kid. Your mother brought me a lot of happiness. I’ll always have wonderful memories and lots of love for her. I’m so happy to see Lamb Chop alive and well. Thank you for giving Lamb Chop a second chance at life.

Sounds horrible and Mallory has every right to be disgusted and upset, but I wonder if it was more so a grave miscalculation her father. Men have weird ways of dealing with emotions and stress. We try to hide it (terribly) (the football game). Likely didn't want to risk a miscarriage of his only grandchild, and didn't want to watch his wife die. Still inexcusable he should have talked to his daughter first.
@ran52475

@@mysecondemailatl that’s an incredibly generous interpretation of two fundamentally horrific decisions. No one wants to experience terrible emotions, but it’s weird how one particular gender uses their gender as an excuse to do the most abominable, psychopathic things to their wives and daughters.

God bless you Mallory for letting us see videos of your beautiful mom and for letting Lamb Chop live on. You are a wonderful talent yourself and give so much love and life to her. God bless. You're the best daughter a Mother could have. I actually think you bring a special sound into her voice. Sweet Lady, you make Lamb Chop touch my heart with tears! I bought three Lamb Chops at CVS stores and "shared" one yesterday. Gave her to a homeless woman who said, "This made my day!" And we played Lamb Chop back and forth together. No way should your mother die! My mom passed and I still suffer from it. I comfort myself with Lamb Chop. She's alive with me! She is! It's a miracle! I miss your Mom already ❤

Let me just say till this day I have my lamp chop play along vhs tape and I’m 33. Sherri was so impactful to me growing up, I had my own lamb chop puppet and would watch the vhs tape daily to try and perfect lamb chops voice. The day I heard Sherri passed away I cried and just felt I lost someone close to me. I will definitely be growing up my kids on lamp chop to keep Sherri’s memory alive. She was truly a gift! And I’m glad her daughter keeps it going.

My grandmother raised me from birth and when she introduced me to Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop, they became a big part of my life as a kid, a teenager and even now in my 30's. Shari was like an aunt to me, even though we never met. She was a part of my family. Even now after watching this, I still cry for her passing. I was inspired to learn Ventriloquism after seeing her shows. She is a treasure in many hearts and is powerfully missed. Thank you, Mallory, for keeping Lamb Chop alive for the world.

If this is as close to a Lamb Chop documentary that we get, then I guess so be it. However I would like to see one day a full-length feature documentary that covers Shari Lewis’ entire life story, with new and perhaps any existing interviews they can gather and any never before seen footage of Shari that the archives may still have (be it B-roll or whatever). No one knows how much of Shari’s work is lost as of yet (well, other than the color masters for NBC’s The Shari Lewis Show) so hopefully the most notable ones (like Lamb Chop’s Play Along after Season 2?) haven’t disappeared. I know projects such as this cost a lot and take time to put together which is understandable, but like I said it’s something I would like to see one day. Anyway, it was great to see Mallory and Lamb Chop again. Much love to them and whatever they do. 😊

I was born in '56 and I remember watching Shari Lewis on TV in the early 60's. At five or six years old I had a crush on her. Still do.

This was my FAVORITE show growing up. I have never forgotten the song that doesn't end. I still sing it and my daughters know it too. Shari was amazing and beautiful. I'm thankful for the childhood memories she gave me. ❤

At 38 years old I'm still on a mission getting the puppets of Lambchop and the mysterious Charlie Horse! I have the puppet of Hush Puppy! Watching this video gave me the chills I got Lambchop for a Christmas present not sure if she's sweaky or hush puppy thinks she's a dog toy lol!🤣😊😱 Been a fan of Lamb Chop since I was little probably the last time I haven't seen her was when I was almost ten!, I've always wondered what happened either I'm old or new generation! To this day Im a huge fan and glad to meet the daughter of Shari with an a A on this video! Keep the vibe goin you are the best! Mom will always be in my heart as with and your family and the lambs around the world! Much love ,Heidi🦋😁🌷💕🌈🥰😊😊

Lamb Chop was my 2nd favorite stuffed animal growing up. I watched the show as often as I could (even though it drove my parents crazy 😂)

I loved Lamb Chop as a toddler. I honestly am sad that PBS never thought of doing a revival of Lamb Chop but with Mallory at the helm.
