Lyrics:
Watch the gears grind off their teeth
The screeching halt machine digging heels in disbelief
Two reactional identities, opposing policies
A bait and switch routine.
Double takes and double speak
Still scripting the facade
Asphyxiate and choke the truth
All hail the money God
Repeat, echo, refrain
It’s all the same, so deafening
Repeat, echo, refrain
A consequence, we asked for this
Repeat, echo, refrain
No, never again
The American scream.
A coup de tat on full display, a liar’s sick charade
A traitor’s grand parade
Narcissistic masquerades for those without a say
Systematic disarray.
Divide and conquer and close them in and bury secrets deep
Make America hate again and bleed the sheep to sleep.
Repeat, echo, refrain
It’s all the same, so deafening
Repeat, echo, refrain
A consequence, we asked for this
Repeat, echo, refrain
No, never again
The American scream.
You try to pick the lesser of
But evil doesn’t come in twos
Bellicose and balkanized
A sinking ship of fools
So kiss the hangman as you drop
The rotting corpse of decency
Just another casualty of the American scream.

I remember really enjoying LOG in HS, but being a bit intimidated by Randy's intense vocals. Fast forward today and LOG is still one of my favorite band but my respect for Randy's vocals grew exponentially. He really is a master of his craft and melds perfectly with the rest of the group. Not to mention they all seem like humble and down to earth guys. Top 3 modern metal bands w/o question for sure.

Ashes of the Wake vox topped this by far. His highs don't sound the same in these more recent couple albums. Still good shit, but it seems like he's trying to save his vocal chords lol prolly because he went so fuckin' hard on earlier albums. Shit was nasty in New American Gospel, great stuff. I know people say his vox are more refined now, but the older albums just seemed way more fucking brutal.

From a drummers standpoint, it isn't really the style of playing that's too different, it's how it sounds. Chris usually kept things very tight, tuned high, with a quick decay. It was a hallmark of the Lamb of God sound, not to say that this is bad by any means, the difference is just very noticeable. Nonetheless, very excited to see where the band goes from here.

To the people complaining: 1. Chris Adler is gone, accept that. Art is a good drummer, not as influential as Chris, bcs Chris been in the game for so long, Art is relatively young. And Chris himself chose him as a temporary replacement, and the band chose him. They know their music best, and what kind of drummer they like, so shut up and enjoy the music. 2. Lamb of God have already hit their peak in the ATPB, AOTW and Sacrament era. They have their trademark riffs, drum fills and vocals, its their signature sound that makes them as big as they are now. They're not an experimental, progressive metal band who change their sound drastically for each album, what more can you expect besides badass riffs, growling vocals and groovy beats? Clean vocals? More acoustic stuff? Its their style, they just modernize their sound, you cant expect more from them. Hell even Slayer mostly have the same beats and riff style in each of their songs and they're undoubtly a legend. I get it that y'all love Lamb of God and miss Chris Adler, but the fact that they're still hungry enough to drop new music and the music is not bad at all (it's actually good), we should be thankful for that.

So first its not that Chris isn't with them its about the way it happened to kick a brother out of a band that's been around for over 20yrs and he was a founding member and do kick him due to wanting to change up their sound (wich they should) then come back, not knowing that they decided to keep new drummer an not move forward with u? That's dirty and bullshit. Their music is stale why would u keep go in if all ur gonna do is write recycled material? That isn't any. Then u go to a show to hear lamb and u get the new carp? Wtf man nah they might as well have hung it up an just played the material they have . its a band that started out in 6th gear and didn't have no where to go. They are bad ass musicians and has never evolved? Their new material isn't new. Don't u get sick of constant double bass with the same riffs over it, with the same vocal paterns? That's not boring to u? Its all the same shit. They can keep there signature sound and still branch out to new material those dude can play anything on guitar but choose to do the same thing. They've already made it yrs ago what's the harm in getting creative and changing ur style a bit and start writing music for ur self instead of "what the fans are used too" real fans will never leave they are just scared of that and don't wanna change it up at least from outside view that's what it seems. So yeah the was they did Adler was bullshit and speaks volumes of what kind of people they actually are. Pretty sad
@adrianresa_
@adrianresa_ 4 жыл бұрын
@@jcreature11 oh so you exactly know what actually happened between Chris and the band? Dude, I'm sure no one outside the band, the management, and the circle around the band know exactly what happened. They're grown ass men, they don't just kick out someone who's been in the band since day one without any agreement from both parties. What if Chris was the one who wanted to leave and forced his way out? What if Chris did something horrible that pissed each one of the band's member (Willie included)? Dont make it like the band sacrifice Chris for Art, it cant be that simple, theres something in it WE DONT KNOW. Even in an interview, Chris said that he and Willie were having some difficult time after he left the band, and he said it happens between siblings. You see? It can be the band's fault that Chris left, but it also can be Chris' fault. Its 4 vs 1 damn. And about the new music sounding boring. Okay please tell me how would you improve their sounds? What would you add to their current formula? I mean i agree that theres nothing new in their recent releases, but idk what needs to change to make Lamb of God sound fresh. They've released their "dark" sounding album in Sacrament. They've released their raw political with tons of riffs in Ashes of the Wake. They've set their signature sound foundation in As the Palaces Burn. They've released their thrashier album in Wrath. They've experimented with clean vocals and more complex song structures in Resolution and Sturm und Drang. I mean what do you expect them to do from now on? To be more experimental and progressive? Sure, there will be different people complaining. You cant please everyone. Im sure they make music for themselves first, its not like they try to play it safe, its just they've hit their peak. Theyre done making game changing records. Accept that.

This new drummer is phenomenal to fit so well with this band that we love. The only thing that I feel would have been different with Chris on this track is those signature double base drum spurts that are super fast for just a second or 2 every here and there. It’s a little thing but it makes a difference.

Ive been a fan of lamb of god for 13 years. When i first listened to some of their songs, i was scared as shit. Imagine that jump from korn and other nu metal bands to this kind of music. Even though i was scared i managed to keep listening to it and eventually really began to get hooked on LOG. Afterwards, i began to listen to other metalcore bands. Ex:unearth, Killswitch. Then i wanted something heavier and ended up listening to cannibal corpse, then dying fetus, then cattle decap, then exhumed, then disgorge. When i discovered black metal i couldnt stop listening to it;it totally changed my world. So i began to listening to heavier and heavier music all thanks to lamb of god. Lamb of god is a very unique and versatile band and keep coming back to them. I welcome their new drummer with open arms. I didn't like the new song at first, but after many listens i now have high hopes for this album. I believe in LOG's potential. They are very talented musicians. All hail lamb of god \m/

There are a lot of people here commenting about how this sounds very "same old" and that they're disappointed by how similar it sounds to some of their other tracks, but I bet they're the people that would be the first to complain if LoG switched up their sound too much. I personally like this one, it's far from groundbreaking but it's solid. The riffs are good, Randy's vocals are on point as always, and although Art had some big shoes to fill I think he did a great job in this. His drumming was tidy and I think some of his fills (see 1:36 and 1:51) were tastefully done. Like I said, it's nothing special but not every song a band releases has to be and I admire their consistency even with changes in members. It had my head bopping, my foot tapping, very typically Lamb of God but I'll definitely be listening to it again.

I seriously rememebr this ios one of the only things i rememebr too lol is screaming sheering thinking the concert was early on, to find out it was over! I had blacked out almost the entire main event LMAO! Saw In Flames once, and I saw LoG at the sounds of underground tour back i think it was 2004? then saw them at the Gigan tour along with Megadeth. I used to go to a decent amount of shows, like i said this iwll be my first concert in idk, 11-12 years iirc.
