I met Randy last year at a show here in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a concert. It was one of them meetings that JUST happened. When you're at the right place at the right time. I knew I would meet him someday and it happened! What was also was awesome was telling him about my recovery story and I'm 13 years sober from alcohol myself and when he was going through the same situation of a murder charge, I was as well and I was wrongfully accused and my charges were eventually dismissed. I shared with him that when he so happened to be standing at the gate and right when I looked, I ran to him and told him my re and story. He took the time to listen and he asked if I wanted a picture with him. We got some pictures and I'm so grateful to have met him. I can't wait to see the show this August. 512 is my favorite song! I love him, he's an amazing man with an amazing soul!!

In one weekend I ran into Randy twice. One time it was 2 AM and we asked him where we could get beer. We weren't from Virginia and didn't know you couldn't buy alcohol @ whatever time it was. He ended up just giving us his own 6 pack of beer. Next day I got knocked out in a mosh pit while Insect Warfare played and got knocked out. Randy caught me and pulled me out to a calm spot and made sure I was okay. Mind you I'm 99% sure he didn't realize I was the same person he gave his beer to the night prior. This was before he was sober so if people say he's nicer now that he is, he must be @ sainthood now.

I've gone through the same thing. Alcohol changes from an ordinary thing that most people do for fun into the cause of all sorts of trouble and it's hard to stop. It takes time and a huge toll to realize that you're going down. People always warn you you'll end up getting liver problems, but you just think it's a thing way into the future and you'll have plenty of time to quit before that happens. But sooner than you know, you're waking up in the most dangerous situations and realize you been very close to being totally fucked up. As it becomes more frequent you start to fear sometime you'll just die or wake up iin jail for having muredered someone that you don't even remember. But it's when you see the edge just below your feet and see a huge abiss in front of you, that you decide to quit. But it's forever an everyday battle.
@Youre_Right8 жыл бұрын
True. There is whole periods of my life I don't remember. I used to drink to black outs everyday of my life. The thought of getting off work and not drinking into a black out was foreign. Then add Xanax into the mix and there's weeks and months of no memory. Non stop partying. I woke up in jail once. Turns out I had been there 2 days. Got myself pepper sprayed and I didn't remember anything. Not the hit and run, not the resisting arrest, not the screaming and banging on jail doors. I just sat there in my cell shaking from alchohol withdrawals. Went to rehab. Got out and started right back. Finally I got it. It became clear that my life was over if I didn't do something. I had alienated myself from everyone that was a positive part of my life. It's a struggle at times, but at least I know exactly what I did and don't wake up and have to apologize to everyone.
@MaxHohenstaufen8 жыл бұрын
David L glad you made it. Since I wrote that comment I had a major relapse. Hope you keep it on the track out of this addiction. You only need to fail once and it's all back on you, do not falter, ever.
@grndmst94 жыл бұрын
@Bradley Schroeder I have struggled (And still do) with Xanax and Opioids. Have for about 10 years. And honestly, the mental aspect of it is something I can muster, but the biggest hurdle is that withdrawal. Opiate withdrawal feels like you have the worst case of the Flu combined with erratic emotional ups and downs, and Benzo withdrawal (Xanax) has you feeling like a completely exposed nerve. It's a terrible life, and people that haven't been through don't get it, "addiction" isn't even the right word, dpendency fits better but even that doesn't quite do it justice. But yes, it's hard, so goddamn hard. Hope you all are well.

First time I saw Lamb was in Club Ifor Bach in Cardiff.I knew hardly anything about them,I don’t think I had ever heard them but I just got a sense that by their very name they WOULD be right up my alley.Randy Blythe staggered into the club pre-show having been out with a few of Cardiff’s finest drinkers and he was having a fantastic time and do you know what,he looked and sounded to be the sweetest guy ever so I think there is a pre-conception about him that he is probably never going to shake off.Now I no longer listen to LOG just because I’ve discovered other bands to waste my time and money on but you HAVE to credit RB with doing the decent thing by going back to the Czech Rep.,to face the music(pardon the pun),knowing full well he may well have gone to prison and as I understand it he wasn’t bound to go back either.That tells me that here we have someone,Rock Star or not who has a well developed sense that you always do the right thing and you always take your punishment no matter what.So,good on you Sir for what you did.

hes a fucking white ghost Gweilo or gwai lo (鬼佬; Cantonese gwai2 lou2, pronounced [kʷɐ̌i lǒu] ( listen)) is a common Cantonese slang term for Westerners. In its unmodified form, it applies only to European ethnicities and has a history of racially deprecatory use. Cantonese speakers frequently use "gweilo" to refer to Westerners in general use, in a non-derogatory context, although whether this type of usage is offensive is disputed by both Cantonese and Westerners alike
