I love how she rolls with the punches (e.g., no garlic) since this was broadcasted live.

I remember one episode where there was a knock and she just kept the show rolling.

Yeah I like that. "You can add some garlic...which I don't seem to have." She just goes on

I love lamb. I used get excited about buying a leg of lamb. My mom would say, you sound like dad, her dad. He loved lamb, he'd occasionally buy a leg of lamb. Brings back memories, my grandfather was quite a character. He made homemade wine, he cook anything, knew all about herb's and how to cure just about anything. He was in the military. The stories he told. I really miss him. I love Julia childs.👍🙂💞👋 Vee J.

She was a hard working woman and very down to earth. I highly doubt she made a mess thinking that peons would have to clean up. I am sure she cleaned up right with the crew

Unsure who you are calling drunk, but Julia Child was never drunk when she made these shows. In fact, she was not much of a drinker. Read the bios about her.

Always liked how she pronounced ‘menu’ as main-oo.

I am 69. That pronunciation was correct and common in English in the Mid-century. "Menu". The word is actually French. Hear Jack Benny pronounce it that way "mainyou" on vintage radio and TV. (KZbin). I teach French.

We never ate any lamb where i'm from, but I gotta say it doesn't look that great. Very fatty, and gristly looking. I could be wrong, and I would try it. I'm just basing my opinion on the way the raw meat looks.

I grew up eating lamb. And that was before Americans' palettes forced it to taste bland like it does now. It's supposed to taste and smell a bit funky. My mother used to make a killer curried lamb that we'd top with peanuts, raisins, and banana slices. This was in the 60s and my parents were from English stock.

I don’t like lamb. It has a greasy taste and smell, that needs to be disguised by smothering it in herbs and spices. It’s because it is too young. Mutton has a lovely robust flavour. No greasy smell and taste. Slow cooked mutton is melt in the mouth good. It’s the same with veal and beef. Veal lacks flavour, because it is a few weeks old baby, that is not allowed to move, is kept in the dark in a tiny space, and is not even milk fed. I can’t abide eating too young, often poorly treated meat. It doesn’t even taste as good as a well treated animal that has been allowed to live. Totally unnecessary.
