Pantera - The Art Of Shredding Rhythm Guitar Lesson

Hey hope this helps. A lot of the riffs seem like they're upside down with your picking hand starting on an up stroke. It may take a little to get used to. One of the hardest riffs in the song is the verse riff keeping the timing sharp with the change from Bb slide to B etc.
The harmonic squeal on the B string on the 2nd fret is prob the toughest to do. I don't get it every time either.

Dime did that a lot, for that swishing swell effect. Mostly upstrokes as opposed to your usual downstrokes, Cowboys from hell for example, the power chords in the main riff are all upstrokes except for the first stroke on the 1.

Curious as to what your recommendation would be to go about getting 1/4 step down. What hz would I set my tuner to? I've heard of people eyeing it out between tunings on a chromatic tuner but I was wondering if there's a more accurate way to go about it?

It is cool but the tones can be replicated with the current amps without spending more money. The amount of eq they’ve added in the rack tells me that they had a hard time getting a good tone out of the simulated gear to begin with.

Amplitube sucks compared to freeware amp sims like Lepou, Vadim, and TSE. It's ok for bass distortion but it's rubbish for guitars.

In all honesty, I never want to say anything negative but Dean guitars have been selling rubbish with Dime’s name on the headstock. If you buy one now you’ll get a Chinese made guitar with a fake floyd rose and pickups dime never used. To spend that much money you’re far better off with just about any other guitar on the market. As much as I wanted my Dime guitars to be awesome I eventually came to the sad realization that they were cheap gimics. Why can Jackson can make an Adrian Smith SDX with comparable components and a solid build for half the price. I really am sorry to say all that

Maybe you should add one to your collection? I bet, it`s a lot easier to find good Wasburn Dime in Australia, than it is in Russia) Anyway, thank you for all your lessons, and sorry for my english. @@LambChopper678 We can say Dean only produce in Korea, China and Indonesia nowadays, the USA models are usually limited runs to increase the price. However the Dean ML 79F TB costs less, has a real Floyd Rose and is often discounted. You can put a Bill Lawrence in it and get a fairly decent Dime guitar.

I used to play it as an E power chord and slide it down to the 1st fret like Dime did often like in 5 minutes alone. If you listen to the song closely you can hear the upper strings of the chord ring through. It could be done as an open E shape though you need to also play the G on the 4th and the B on the 5th to sound like the record. It’s easier to move the whole shape up and play an e power chord as I showed in the vid. No notes get left behind dude

Riff 1 is completely wrong. there is clearly a wah used. Also check out the live footage from 1990. you can see Dime playing it. Clearly not what you a re playing. Riff 4a is also completely wrong. you're playing way harder than it needs to be. Checkout the same video footage from 1990. Not trying to give you grief, just a friendly critique. Love your work

I sold my Dime guitars over 5 years ago. Dime was awesome, those Deans are rubbish. $1000 Chinese made guitars with fake Floyd Rose. Now they don’t even come with Dimebuckers. But thanks for the kind words man.
