Havok From The Cradle To The Grave Guitar Cover

Thanks for watching again, I was going to do this one with Josh but he'd already done this one over a year ago and I know how painful it is to have to go back and re do something. He said he would, being nice fella but I told him not to worry about it. There's plenty more songs in the works though.
I have been trying to figure out this solo for ages, it's my favourite song from Havok and Reece is amazing. He's got a classic style and very innovative with his technique. One guitar player I'd love to learn form over many heroes. These guys are going to be the next big name in Metal, I know it.
David's guitar parts were recorded using a Peavey 6505 through Bias and Reece's were recorded through the EVH 5150 iii 50w all through Pro Logic X and edited in Premiere Pro CS6

How do u get songs like this without the guitar tracks, and only bass, drums, and vocals?

Pro Logic X allows you to phase cancel, meaning once you do the recording - you can phase out your guitar with the original track recording so both vanish. Then you paste yours back in over the top. It is tricky to do as your guitar parts need to be spot on in tone and timing. Otherwise the original hangs out the sides or doesn't sound right.

Amazing cover! Do you know whether the Jackson KVXMG is good or not? I was so sure about buying the VMNT AOD but those Jackson King V's seem so appealing to me that I just can't decide... The problem is that the price difference is so big and I'm afraid that the quality of the KVXMG won't be near as good as the VMNT...

DeadSpace178 I've never had a bad Jackson. Can't say the same for Deans though. Out of 3 deans I ordered on the net over the years, 2 of them needed fret leveling and the fret boards were warped. Get the KVXMG

Do you use active pickups more than passive ones?

It depends on the tone I'm chasing. For most aggressive metal I go for actives but it really depends on what I'm playing. Passives are a little more responsive to feel and have the ability to sound different to a variety of picking velocities and techniques. Maybe I'll discuss it on the next FAQ
