HoverAir X1 | Motorcycle Content GAME Changer??

When HoverAir contacted me and asked if I would like to test out their new flying selfie camera on my motorcycle I was a little sceptical.. I've used DJI products in the past and good as they are the time it takes to get them in the air puts me off using them regularly.
Will the HoverAir X1 providing anything above and beyond what's possible with regular drone cameras? Lets find out!

Interesting piece of kit there! Definitely saves the faffing about required with the Dji mini. I’ve recently tried this with the mini 4 pro on the latest active track auto setting following the bike…works pretty well with the obstacle avoidance but came very close to tree branches etc. I must admit love the simplicity of this one and no doubt a lot cheaper too.

Before we even get started…. THANK YOU!!! I just learned of this drone about a week ago and I am very interested. Again, thanks for getting it and making this content Yup, I have a Skydio2 and it just takes up so much room, extra weight and takes a lot longer to get airborne. I will have to get one of these little things. The picture quality isn’t horrible but, like you say, it could be upgraded.

Looks brilliant, but serious question - Do you need to register with CAA and get an "Operator ID", etc ? They keep changing the rules all the time so I'm not sure right now, legally it seems like it's a bit of a moving target. I'm pretty sure that even though it's under 250g, because it has a camera it still needs to be registered, but I might be wrong. Would be good to know what you find out, maybe do a follow up video? Would be very useful so Lamb Chop Rides viewers don't end up the wrong side of the law, especially since custodial sentences can potentially be up to 5 years. People appear to be prosecuted quite a bit now that the police are more aware of these things and what we can and cannot do with them. Might be a good idea to get in touch with the "Geeksvana" youtube channel as he follows this stuff quite closely.

Chopsy, this is a great drone I have one but it is fallible and when in follow mode the chance of losing it are very high as you are probably aware. There is anxiety. If it loses you or crashes you won't know when it happens! bye bye drone and as for cold weather flying the battery will last less than two minutes and it will struggle to follow in a linear fashion if you are riding up or down hill.Still glad I have got one though!

Nice little drone 👍 Cool gadget but no 4k record and pricey i think. I have the DJIO Mini 4 Pro now with the screen in the remote so no mobile needed. I wasn’t using my older drone due to always having to faff with mobile phone so very pleased now with the integrated screen dji mini 4 Pro 👍 easy and no phone faffing 😂

Yes battery doesn't last that long, you certainly need two if you want to get a decent amount of shots

The sensor size is more important than the resolution, you're basically cramming more pixels onto a really small sensor, picture quality goes down, if you compare the size of the sensors between this and the Dji, generally why the picture image quality is far superior on the Dji. The Dji has a 1/2.3-inch CMOS. few other bits to, but that's generally the gist. Until the follow me function works all the time every time, I'll stay away from them, and plus, most places around Europe you can hardly use them officially, Insurance, for the ones over 250gr, you even need a flying license.
