I bought a Obsidian Wire P-Bass harness and while installing it ,it broke. I reached out to Obsidian Wire to see if they have parts to fix it and they where so kind as to send me a complete new one. They are the best. P-Bass sounds as great as it looks. I love my P-Bass.

For the record, I've liked and subscribed. That said, unless it's to hear/watch you play, I'll not return. I like & subscribed because I understand it helps your compensation. Additionally, you're very informative and a good teacher. The problem for me as a brand new player is that there don't seem to be channels geared toward that audience, in my view. From where I sit, most if not all KZbin channels are "gear driven", and consist mainly of why that "cheap" but decent guitar you bought could be REALLY good if you buy this, and do that! Finally, most tubers are too busy to interact (I get it) with the comment section, which is why I come here in the first place. Maybe one of these days, my budget guitar adventure will lead me back here.

Hey Raymond! I appreciate the honesty! I do some gear reviews for sure but I'll also weave in song tutorials as well. I also make content on how to achieve good tone. And I respond to all KZbin comments ;) But I get it, if this channel isn't for you, it's ok!

So when you want to play with the trim pot you have to take strings off if using locking tuners (don't need to wind so much string) to get underneath? Then adjust restring and tune? Why not make anything adjustable sit in the backing plate area so you can literally adjust on the fly and compare and find that sweet spot immediately..hell even have it on the pickguard with a fancy cap or knob perhaps. Love the concept and I'll be getting one, just a strat bugbear.
@thetoneshepherd6 ай бұрын
I totally get it. Would have been nice to be able to dial this in from the front. But I found that once I had my "spot", I didn't want to touch it again, so I'd rather not have a hole in my pickguard dedicated to something I only use once.

Hi great video and harness!! I ordered one for my Strat HSS, but I wanted to ask... since my American Standard single coils are 5.90 & 5.95 DC resistance and my Thornbucker+ is 9.1 DC, to avoid having a weak bridge coil split..how do you suggest to set the split?
@thetoneshepherd3 ай бұрын
It's hard to say to be honest. It's something I had to play with for a bit. Which is a bit of a hassle since you have to disassemble the guitar to do that. But it's worth the tweaking to get it right!
@nevenlisicaАй бұрын
Is it possible that in the split position the inner coil of humbucker would be working and not the outter one?
@thetoneshepherdАй бұрын
Hmmm, not sure on that. I'm sure Kurtis @lambertones_pickups could answer that though.

I've got a JB Jr in my bridge and this seems like the way to go. Does the Duncan pickup have the same color coded wires as the Crema?
@thetoneshepherd Жыл бұрын
Seymour Duncan uses different color codes than Lambertones. There are a few color code diagrams on the internet you can find easily but here's what I found. @LAMBERTONES could confirm. Duncan / JB Jr: BLACK - North Start (Hot) WHITE - North Finish RED - South Finish BLACK - (Ground) Lambertones / Crema: GREEN - North Start (Hot) RED - North Finish WHITE - South Finish BLACK - (Ground)

Very informative! I'm looking to replace my 1980's Stratocaster pickups with the Triple shot. I love the tone of my pickups, but they are just noisy. From my experience beyond normal 60 cycle hum, Do you find the Lambertones quiet? Also, when splitting the Crema, do you find that it sounds like normal bridge Stratocaster pickup or something close to it? Thanks!
@thetoneshepherdАй бұрын
@@pickledorf The Triple Shots aren't noiseless so I don't want to get your hopes up there. But they're a great example of a vintage sounding single coil! The split Crema Bridge doesn't sound exactly like a regular single coil but I'll say that this harness helps a lot. Dialing in a little more of that humbucker is where I feel it's closest to the regular single coil tone.
@pickledorfАй бұрын
@@thetoneshepherd I know they aren't noiseless. I think with all of the lights and other electronics my old pickups can't handle the interference. I think the Lambertones will be better about it. You've sold me on the Creama and the harness! Thanks!

Thanks! And ya know, I just copy/pasted the links into my description from Instagram. But I was viewing Instagram from a web browser on my computer, not my phone, so maybe that has something to do with it. Either way, I, too, appreciated that cool little feature ;)

What is the difference between this is and the 7 way Gilmore mod ?
@thetoneshepherd8 ай бұрын
The difference is in the variable split resistor. This allows you to adjust how much of the humbucker is split, ranging from thin and bright single coil sounds to fuller sounding single coil sounds.
@jessecapalbo55128 ай бұрын
@@thetoneshepherd so you have more control over the tone as opposed to the gilmour mod? Sorry, I’ve been trying to wrap my head around these for the past few days
@thetoneshepherd8 ай бұрын
The Gilmore mod is a totally different idea. It does not split a humbucker and is only suited for three single coil pickups. This wiring harness is for two single coils with a bridge humbucker
@jessecapalbo55128 ай бұрын
@@thetoneshepherd ahh perfect, thank you! I was getting confused thinking both mods could be done on both HSS and SSS strats which made things very confusing for me. Thanks again!
