@@DonnallySpineConsult The Rothman Doc wanted to do a radical laminectomy on me. I went to a Jefferson Neurosurgion for a second opinion and he said that a hemilaminectomy would be less invasive and would do the same job relieving the pressure on my nerves.

Surgery in 12 hours. L3-5 lamenectomy, L5-S1 starts with F. I wanna know how long till I can go swing and line dancing. Work as a pipefitter might be tough so gonna wait 8 weeks. But really I just wanna get back on the dance floor. How long till bedroom fun too?

My wife is going through laminectomy and discectomy on right side L5. Going to be doing her home health and really want to understand how to do the everyday things. Is sitting in the realm of bending or it’s helping on and off the toilet? Iim assuming I’ll be changing clothes, wraps, the works….is there a schedule I should put together so she isn’t going crazy in bed? He biggest worry is her mental health so I want to have a healthy schedule of schooling and reading while having games n such to keep her entertained. Outside of sleeping. Do I need extra covers for any seepage? We have two weeks til the outpatient surgery, god bless the Dr that got us in last day of the year.

Thanks for the information Dr. I just have one query. In case of laminotomy, the bone can regrow and occupy the space, which can cause ailment again in similar way. Isn't it?

I had none-invasive lumbar surgery for herniated disc of L4 and L5 on September 30, 2024, and seven weeks onward I am still experiencing residual pain down my right leg, including buttocks, calf, and feet. Numbness on my right foot. My surgeon stated that my discs were "severely" herniated. Is this residual pain normal and will it eventually go away? I have a follow up MRI on December 3, and I will be starting therapy soon although I've been doing various recommended stretches. Your input having gone through this would be greatly appreciated. If leg nerves were injured prior to surgery, does it take time for them to heal? Thank you for your video. Javier

@ …ok when you say “ a tad” what are we talking about? My surgery is on Wednesday Dec 11- and I’d really like to know what I’m looking at…..I am in agonizing pain now, and no antiinflammatory at this point…..and hydrocodone not touching it

What are the odds of hurting the healing process….i am 8 days out of surgery and I’ve felt pretty good! I don’t like wearing the brace….how often should I wear it? I’ve even vaccumed, drove and went back to work….

Oh thank God when you said no BLT’s I thought yu were meaning no Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and I was saying NO WAY I’m having this surgery now!!! 😳
