1- email your insurance card to Spine@TSCspine.com
2- if we take that insurance THEN upload your images (get the CD from image center) to my portal for our 1st visit
3- I must have X-rays and MRI, X rays are critical. Just MRI isn’t enough. Need to be from last 12 months. Nothing older is needed, or wanted.
4- You need to get your CD 💿 of your X ray and MRI (imaging centers will never send them to us)
5- On the top of my website (www.DonnallySpine.com) is the link to UPLOAD images, from YOUR HOME! 🤯🥰

I am 68 years old, had spinal stenosis since I was a in grade school, strengthening core muscles is the answer! The only time my back didn’t hurt was during military service, until I tried picking up something too heavy ! Good luck to all!!!

I had severe spinal stenosis in my lower lumbar and the first two orthopedic Drs I saw wanted to send me to a bigger city at a spinal institution and were telling me I needed as many as four discs fused. I found a neurosurgeon who used something called an ultra sonic scalpel and without fusing any discs fixed my back. I have no pain in my hip or down my leg at all. He told me I had osteocytes so large that they were pinching some of my nerves almost flat. This was from osteoarthritis. I had this in sections 1-4 in my lumbar. I’m very grateful for this Dr and glad I sought another opinion because I believe a four disc fusion would have wrecked my life.

. Thank you for this precise description. My husband now 80, has lumbar stenosis. Walking is very difficult and he now uses a cane as his hips are also a pain problem. He lap swims 3 times a week and this keeps him mobile, with pain medication and now a heated back brace when gardening. I had a laminectomy L5 S1, some 20 yrs ago due to pinched nerves which gave me indescribable pain and finally my specialist decided to operate when all else failed. What a relief to stand up but I would not choose to go through it again. I maintain my core strength and seldom have a problem other than standing upright from bending forward which I try not to do. Comparing our spine issues, mine is great at 76 but his is worsening which has greatly restricted his once very active life.

In GB covid halted all treatment but suddenly ive been told i definitely need decompression and instrumental fusion. L4 L5 and lower disc , s1 i think . Your presentation is very thorough and i can tell you are extremely careful about options . Ive just had new x rays mri and ct scans for up to date info and if these ar e good enough its crunch time . Im 73 and people have alerted me of problems . Thank you for the most comprehensive video I have seen. My husband has been in pain for 6-1/2 years, and we have tried almost everything short of surgery, which he hopes to avoid. He was diagnosed with a disc herniation and now it is considered an annular tear. He has tried injections, massage, at home PT, back braces, etc. He now has a new symptom - foot drop. So, your expertise will enable us to make a more informed decision. It has been a challenging journey.

What your explaining fits me. I've been in pain for 11 years and 2 years ago I got a nerve burn( prob not correct term ) but I was pain free and med free for 9 months. After that it was back to meds but now I'm having all the symptoms your explaining. I was told I have peripheral neuropathy. Now they gave me another burn but it did nothing, I'm past miserable and life sucks. So they did another test burn last week and behold all that nerve pain I had from my hips to my toes was gone. So now he want to do another burn but I would like to have my life back and I personally don't think another burn is what I need if they know the last test worked. What can I do. I've even in serious pain for so long. What do I do? I haven't been able to work since 2012 and I'm 61 now. I would like to enjoy the rest of my life with my wife of 28 years now whereas of having her watch me suffer. Please help 🙏

Hi Doctor. I had a flare up on Christmas Day. This is after receiving the epidural shot just two weeks ago. I was told to get an MRI - IMPRESSION: Degenerative disc disease with mild degree of disc space narrowing along with broad-based disc herniations are seen from L3-L4 through L5-S1 as described above. Spondylosis changes are seen posteriorly at L4 -5 level. Spinal stenosis with thecal sac compression at L 4-5 level is seen. The exiting right L 4 nerve root at L4-5 level and bilateral descending S1 nerve roots at L5-S1 level also appear to be compromised. Clinical correlation is recommended. Findings at L4-5 and L5-S1 appear to be more prominent than the prior study.

Im facing major surgery because i was disgnosed with spinal stenosis with neurogenic claudication in lumbar region. As well i have severe scarring that has created a hump protruding outward from the spinal column. Its now bone on bone as my prior fusion in L4-L5 is to blame from the pressure to the verebrates above and below. Im dreading having to undergo a 2nd back surgery but the sciatic pain is constant making walking difficult.

Oh Thankyou sooo much. Since 5 years old after a traffic accident my spine has been damaged, badly. But back in the day I didn’t get sent to hozzie even though I was very bad ,head injuries, blood all over. Only started to feel my back showing pains. Hozzie discovered after ordinary X-ray,my spine Usher to left. Half not grown properly. And had an infection discitis. Not much help since 2014. Maybe because I’m old wench. 73 years. Because of DISCITIS a anesthesiologist said he wouldn’t risk me to be operated on at all! So I’m on my bed ALL DAY. Never go out only to hozzie visits. My daughter moved in to help me. . I’m very depressed. Suicidal for years. I’m bipolar now. Too old for any surgery. No injections into muscles work . Well longest 3 weeks. IT WAS INCREDIBLE! WONDERFUL. I COULD WALK ,THO WOBBLY ! Then back it came ,my depression is worse now. Also having A.S. SO I’m told. Or saccorolic joint trouble. My whole spine is damaged. CANNOT BELIEVE IVE BEEN LEFT LIKE THIS ALL MY LIFE . MAINLY SINCE MENAPAUSE. BI HAVNT ANY TEam on my case. What says you ,kind Sir ? What should I do? What should these docs do at hospital do? I cannot live anymore this way. With today's technology these surgeries are more successful than ever. It's a calculated risk. Do nothing, I can't walk and risk permanent damage to nerves, do something and MAYBE I can't walk.......... I'll take maybe all day long. It's not for everyone, but it certainty was the right move for me to this point.

I had a laminectomy at the age of 23 in 1980. I'm told that I have what's called widespread stenosis in my lumbar and thoracic and cervical spine, and that's why they don't know what to do in order to alleviate my neurogenic claudication in both feet. I do core work and some stretching, yoga and pilates every other day at my house and I use a chi vitalizer swing, because there's no way to know how to do surgery on it. But I'm afraid I'll never get my walking gait back.

@@DonnallySpineConsult - I am extremely grateful for your consideration and note. That is a very interesting thought: The body is trying to fuse! Why is that? I might guess you would say, "Because the body is no longer stable..." and so on. Or, "The body is struggling there against gravity and failing..." That is what it seems to me. As the inflammation around struggling muscles, tendons and ligaments continues unabated, calcium falls out of solution: we start to see Enthesophytes & Syndesmophytes. With DJD imaging typically shows osteophytes. The cause: the body fails to cope with gravity; and, issues like inflammation will over time lead to compromising problems (such as neurogenic claudication). Some interesting thoughts: Why is the body failing against the forces of gravity? It seems the problem is often a consequence of aging. Why? Can we take measures to over come this problem prior to resorting to cages or other assorted hardware? To be sure, things can eventually 'get so bad' that the solution requires surgery and perhaps hardware. But when that happens - the surgery and hardware - it seems the patient is consigned to some significant limitations and will require maintenance surgery over time. I lack the training and skill to implement surgery. What I search for is the "CAUSE". Can I correct the underlying cause? What is that underlying CAUSE and why?

Hey there, I do about 15 new patient telemedicines💻🌎 every week. Here is the best path forward: 1- email your insurance card to Spine@TSCspine.com (We don’t take HMOs or Medicaid, but can private pay unless Medicaid) 2- if we take that insurance THEN upload your images to my portal for our 1st visit. 3- I must have X-rays and MRI, X rays are critical. Just MRI isn’t enough. Need to be from last 12 months. Nothing older is needed, or wanted. 4- You need to get your CD 💿 of your X ray and MRI (imaging centers will never send them to us) 5- On the top of my website (www.DonnallySpine.com) is the link to UPLOAD images, from YOUR HOME! 🤯🥰 6- To recap: email us, get CDs, THEN upload! Step by step: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqGugJl_lJZ5idU - If HMO you can reach out to a Patient Navigator at www.sonoSpineSurgery.com and they can try to help connect us!
