The front wheels are called "Artillery Wheels" named for WW II Artillery guns that left a crimping pattern after handling the big shells. Post war G.I.s copied the design incorporating it into custom cars / wheels. In 1957, all Chevys' full size hubcaps were artillery wheel copies. GM used the design throughout the 50's and sixties. Detroit Steel Wheels now makes Artillery Wheels again, in Detroit. Thank you for sharing...

Georgeous Gasser. The packaging looks more like an old Shoe Box rather than an ammo box though. I'd probably call it "The Fylying Aces Gasser", although the backplate has "FLYNTGR" written on it wich probably refers to the "Flying Tigers" squadron. Another Gasser wich 99% of us will never have a chance to get. Anyway, thanks for showing these!

I really like the convention twins, too bad I don't have either. I'm really glad they moved the front rivet location on the premium casting. I prefer Flying Aces to the WWII Car. Flying Aces is gorgeous. I hope there was a cushion of some sort at the end of that track. Thank you for sharing the unboxing of Flying Aces 👍🏾.

flying tigers is my pick. thats the nickname of the fighter squadron that used this deco on their p-40 fighters during wwii. i love the details on the brake booster/master and the coated exhaust pipes in black instead of the usual chrome pipes coming out. cant wait to get mine!

Maybe 2 at time in very separate lanes with a separator and a nice pillow catch. Too nice for a multicar pile up at end. New Holley Gasser is actually the nicest of all and it's a dollar right now.

Looks wise the Flying Aces wins imo. Paint quality is superior, livery is better, wheel choice is also better and details like the black exhaust and the red tank thing on the front bumper are just nicer. But legendary status wise the Candy wins, for obvious reasons.

you guys know that the US was not the only country that fought during WW2, right? I mean, Canada was in the war way before them and they don't get enough of credit. They fought in the early stage and you also have the french army and the British my, not too mention the volunteers from many different former colonies of the allies so don't give too much credit only to the US, but also to the other countries.

Love it too bad Mattel doesn’t really care about the members and doesn’t care for those clowns that have multiple rlc accounts and hoard and flood the market with ridiculous prices... I am a proud member but the window was real small and Mattel should of have one for each member and not let ppl with multiple accounts try to be smart and purchase many of them to then resell. This totally sucks. And yes it’s a beautiful piece.
