Great video! Question. Can you replace a current light socket, but keep the switch from the one you're replacing it with and move it into the new socket? It's an Edison style Socket. Thanks

thank you for your video.May I know the signs of socket overheating? I just found a lampshade and it stills works but I am just worried coz what 's inside the socket where I put the bulb is kinda grayish. I am not sure if it is just very old lampshade or it is overheat. the old bulb smells like burned so I replaced it with a new one and it doesnt produce the burned smell anymore but I am just concerned. thank you for yout answer :)

This being for beginners remind us to first and most importantly MAKE SURE THE LAMP IS UNPLUGGED!!. I know incognito population control. Don't want anyone coming back whining about losing their loved one. Other than that good video

Yes! It does matter and this video didn't tell you how to correctly install the new lamp switch.

Yes it does matter. You need to use a polarized cord set or or connect a polarized plug on the end of the cord. The screw shell should only be connected to the neutral side of the circuit. On one end you connect the wire with the ribbed lines to the silver screw and on the other end you connect it to the wider pin.
