Hello my Friends! 👋🏽✨🌈 The ‘Plunge and Twist’ technique might just be one of the oldest tricks in the book of flameworking! 😂✨ I don’t know any glass artist who wasn’t mesmerized by this technique when they first tried it! ✨ I absolutely love watching the glass twist up like a tiny tornado! It is most satisfying!! 💫✨ Here, I was inspired by the Pleated Bead technique to achieve a deep dimensional swirling ribbon effect! ✨
Hope you all enjoy!! 🤗💥 🌹🌸🌹🌸
Cheers- Robin 👋🏽🌹

After watching this, I realized that I gave little explanation with the plunge and twist. 😩 Basically, I am pushing into the glass as I twist. You don’t need to push hard through! You can get different results depending on how much you’re pushing.✨ If the stringer cane doesn’t come off right away, you can blow on the hot area and it will come off a bit faster. Be patient and have fun! 🌹✨🌹

It is stunning Robin. Looks like roses in a display box. What I find amazing is that you could have many beads from the one creation by stopping along the way. That’s why I love your work. Each week I say the same thing - oh wow this is my favourite, then you make another bead and that’s my favourite, heheheh take care Robin - until next week have lovely happy days. ❤️💐🌹😊

Awe!…Thank You Narakai! 😆✨💫 That makes me so happy to hear! There is so much inspiration that can be born out of a single technique 🎉💥 From Pleats to Deep Dimensional Swirls… (l just love tracing each individual swirl with my eyes…a gazing bead for sure! ) ✨🌹✨ it’s crazy because sometimes I never know what is coming next! 😂 Patrick and I will be in Chicago next weekend, so I will see you on the next Saturday/Sunday! Have a wonderful week, my Friend!! See you soon! Robin- 🌸🌈✨🤗

Hello Lena! 👋🏽🌹 Thanks so much!!! 🤗I’m glad you are going to give these twists another try! Once you figure it out you will want to plunge and twist everything! 😂😂. It’s magically satisfying!! ✨ I get so nervous doing the voiceover… lol! I appreciate knowing that my babble is helpful and valued! 🥰🌹✨ We will be out of town next weekend, so I will see you week after next. Until then, Take Care & Cheers- Robin 🎉✨😂🌈

It looks like roses! As soon as I feel better, I'm going to try this on a bead! I've done this on a marble, using Boro. I love the feeling of the plunging, cold rod! Thanks so much.

Hi Jo!🤗🌹 lol…it did get big! Sometimes I will try to make everything as small as I can in the beginning so that it doesn’t get big…..and it will still end up being larger than I expected! 😂Thanks so much- Glad you enjoyed!! Cheers- Robin 🌹✨👋🏽

My stringer is looking really washed out in my finished bead. As I look at yours again, it looks like you are applying a nice thick stringer. Could that be my problem?

Hello Ann! ✨🤗 Good question! That has happened to me as well…try adding extra transparent color on the outside of the cane. It will help keep the color denser and more vibrant looking! Also, I try to use a thinner rod of white in the middle 😃💫🌹 And yes! I am using a thicker stringer…(so I guess that would make it more of a cane! )😂 It also helps to keep the color nicer after adding so much clear on top of the bead. ✨💫🌈 I hope this helps you Ann!! 🌹✨🌹 let me know how it goes or if you need more help! 🥰 Cheers- Robin 👋🏽💫✨🌹

Sorry, this has nothing to do with the video. Ok, so you used to use dichroic glass? I found another artist that uses it. I think you may like his ideas. I have seen people use cuts of glass, for bead work. He has several tutorials to watch, but by far this would suit my beading if I can get the torch to work. His name is MarkLauckner and the title of this video is “Best way to buy Dichroic Glass”

What does “ veiled “ cane mean?
@scottwoodresearch
@scottwoodresearch Жыл бұрын
Veiled cane means that there is a ‘veil’ of transparent over an opaque color. 😃🌹✨ I will elaborate in an upcoming demo! 🥰🌈🌹
