Fabulous/the skill needed to do the stringers across length is good to see you do it. And then layer on layer of dots and lines. I know I will get confused when I attempt something like it but that is when it gets fun when you start solving issues that come up. Very cool the banding of black and white beads to make the original sections. I have been using this since I saw you doing it robin and it really has nice results. Thanks so much for sharing your artistry.

Hi Vicki! 🥰🌹 I’m glad you enjoyed this one! I love playing with black and white masking techniques… sometimes I forget how I did certain patterns! 😂 That is what makes them special and unique! Anytime I try to recreate them I get confused as well…sometimes I will take extensive notes and they still come out different! 😅 Thanks so much for sharing!! Cheers- Robin 🙏🏽🌈✨

What a great idea; using the cool part of the bead to shape the hot portion of the bead!!!

The clip at the end.. wow! All of those black and white beads! You get very creative with the 2 colors. I've seen suggestions of working with just two colors, but I run out of ideas so quickly. Great work with all of the masking -- You created a beautiful bead in the demo to add to the rest of your pretties :)

Thank you for your dedication to getting the right video for us. I love the fact you tell us how long it took you to get there. I’m going to have to try this on a smaller bead as I’ve only got ‘cooling beads’ and haven’t saved up enough for an annealer yet 😊

Ginny - Do you use a crockpot with vermiculite for annealing? That’s what I used before I got my Chilipepper Annealer. It really helped me! 🤗 R 🌹✨🌹✨

@@scottwoodresearch yes I do. I have a little hot plate with a heavy bottom saucepan and the beads are in there. I can use the side of the hot plate as a rod warmer. I keep the heat for half an hour after I’ve finished my last bead then let it cool down. I try to only use heat & gravity to shape the beads so I don’t add more stress into the glass.

When I said beads I meant the cooling beads - work the same as vermiculite x

That’s great! I bet it’s nice to have the hot plate there as well! I’ve never seen these cooling beads….sounds fascinating! Thanks for the insight, Ginny!! 🙏🏽🤗🌹

What manufacture rods are you using? I've been following your tutorials and I've noticed that my black and white tends to blur at times. What I'm using is EFF064 for the base bead if it's a black base, EFF204 for the white (I think, I bought my studio used and these were just labeled "white" but most of the glass is EFF so I'm assuming this white is), and CIM Hades for the black dots. I have some CIM Tuxedo and one other that I think is black but when pulled thin it's a beautiful blue color, different than 064 and Tuxedo. Any idea what that one might be? It's actually the Hades that is blurring with the white.

I’m so glad you asked that Teri! I only use a specific black and White For almost all of my black and white work. Effetri black 064 and Effetri white 204…..And that is it! Unless I’m going for something with a special effect… Like your black Hades! That is definitely a chaos color! I have a video (101.32) that is specifically about using Hades for Creating special effects. It will never be a perfect crisp line where the black and white meet. That is why I always use black 064, it keeps a very crisp line. On another note, all blacks are actually very dark transparent colors so when you are using a thin amount of it, they will look either blue or violet. The black 064 has a violet hue when thinned out. I hope that this helps, as I am very picky about the black-and-white that I use! Xoxo R- 🌹✨🔥

How do you like your red bead kiln?

Love it! Easy to use, easy to fix. Inexpensive. I have 2. And I have never had any space problems. It’s perfect for what I do. But if you were making something like a goblet you definitely would not want this annealer! Thanks for asking! R-🌹
