Lana Del Rey - Big Eyes (Lyrics)
With your big eyes
And your big lies
With your big eyes
And your big lies
I saw you creeping around the garden; what are you hiding?
I beg your pardon, don't tell me "nothing"
I used to think that I could trust you
I was your woman
You were my knight and shining companion
To my surprise
My love's demise
Was his own greed
And lullabies
With your big eyes
And your big lies
With your big eyes
And your big lies
I noticed you got hot in summer
You had no comfort
Your shirt was cotton
Your face was sunburned
You paced around like you'd been waiting
Waiting for something
Your world was burning and I stood watching
As I looked on
The flames grew high
You watched me frown
I said "goodbye"
With your big eyes
And your big lies
With your big eyes
And your big lies
Is it me, was I wrong to have trusted you?
Did I see what I wanted, what wasn't true?
Was I wrong to go on like a little fool?
It's amazing what women in love will do
With your big eyes
And your big lies
With your big eyes
And your big lies

She's definitely a vampire or some other immortal thing cause she's so unique in mixing oldie type music with newer sounds. Plus she looks like a goddess. It's the only logical reason lol

Honestly the artist who painted the Big Eyes series was so under appreciated, the movie and this song worked perfectly. Especially this song, I think if you look at the images that the artist made and turned that feeling you get when looking at them into a song, you'd get this. Both Margaret Keane's paintings and life story are so, so haunting is the only way I'd put it. The paintings are hauntingly beautiful, the eyes are so big and so dark, and you know, as they say, the eyes are the windows to the soul.

Lana's singing is just so dazzling here; very elegant and operatic. I feel like the tone and pacing of the whole Honeymoon album was originated from this song, they have a lot in common. The monotoned chorus, slow drums, and a very melodramatic setting. I love it all. Lana is the perfect candidate for making a theatrical, dramatic, and soulful song.

I'm 66 yrs old, and have had a love affair with artists that bare their souls. I was a painter, artist after a 10 yr run as a model. ( a real head fuck) I discovered Lana while listening to Beth Hart. Wow! Beautiful soul inside and out.Amazing talent. I've cried to many of her songs. Feels like I'm purging my soul. I use to feel I was just different and too intense. I hid who I was. Her song on Will you still love me when I'm no longer young & beautiful had me sobbing. I'm back with my Sweetheart from high school. A love we could never explore because of my parents prejudice early 70s. We've seen each other over the years but now that we don't have to worry about parents, children nor anyone, I wish I was still that beautiful young woman for him, yet with both of our bad addictions, it's now the perfect time to be " My once in lifetime " Love you Lana. Very rare, sensual, gorgeous lady. 💜🌠🌈🙏

She's gets so much respect in the music industry. She's amazing. Everyone loves her. Don't be pulling her down. And please, to everyone out there, jump off the "I hate mainstream music so I'm cool" bandwagon. You like a certain band? Cool. You like rap? Cool. You like pop? Nice. Just because you think mainstream pop music is "auto tuned", "meaningless" and "bullshit" doesn't make you any cooler. Sorry if I'm rambling on, but please don't think your all wise and cool and too good just because you like or don't like a certain genre. Like chill, music is music.

I recently watched the Big Eyes movie with Amy Adams and I heard this song within the movie and I felt that song captured every second of the movie perfectly. The lines “To my surprise, my love's demise was his own greed and lullabies” and “It’s amazing what a woman in love will do” get me every single time. Lana Del Ray’s songs and voice really know how to tell a story, and I truly love her for it.

WARNING! Cheesy personal life story ahead! This song has such a deep meaning to me. It is the only song I have ever sung to my ex, sort of. I sang it in the very last night in which we were happy and okay. I am pretty shy, so I didn't quite sing it with the proper passion and emotion. The relationship was really going downhill. We broke up a week after or so. I can relate so damn much to the message of the song. So many beautiful words, like "You are the love of my life", "I will never lose you", "I have no reason to live without you". They were all lies. He dumped me. In the end he told me he loved his exes more than me, EVEN THOUGH I was the only one who didn't cheat on him. This song knows me so well. I always considered him to be better than he actually was, ending up in disappointment. I would sing it for him, with all of my heart, the right way. Not for his pleasure, but to speak up. He wouldn't care anyway though. Moral of the story: Don't have any expectations from anyone. It's the best way to avoid disappointment. Trust no one. Thank you so much for this masterpiece. My favorite song from my favorite movie.

you're way too young to be jaded. Men will break your heart, but boys will tear it to pieces...only because you haven't gained perspective. when you're young, every major heartbreak feels like the worst, but once time passes, the pain fades. you meet someone else. And maybe another someone else. Then one day, you look back and laugh about how you once thought you couldn't live without that guy from five/ten/twenty years ago.

Let me share with you a something... Once a guy fell in love with someone. It was his first love, to be exact first crush. He tried every means to get close. He thought he had it. He was so in love, that he was caught by his own misery; delusions. It was one-sided , I guess. I never thought that it would be. You can say you love someone so much that it fill up the vague and untold feelings he have for you. I really wanted the love so badly that I believed he love me. *which up till now I don't believe that he had never fell in love with me after all that I've done.* It felt shitty. but most of it was my fault. I had expectations that never came to reality and it never had a perfect ending. I still don't know anything about his feelings. Well , I've got over him about a year now and I still think back about the times when I'm so stupid and foolish because everyday every second his on my mind. *I'm probably an insect if it comes to my importance in his life.* So yeah ~ sometimes we must move on with courage and learn from our mistakes. Not trusting anyone is self destruction. You can trust slowly. trust those that can be trusted. If it was his lost, then you should be the one happy right? Why is the Mr bad guy happy instead of u ? You can find yourself a better person that will help you in the recovery of being heartbroken and at the same time , teach you how to love. Instead of making yourself feel miserable, you must move on. -peace-

I have an ex and sometimes he would text me saying he misses me but I would say no and then he starts being rude and starts cursing at me and he says he likes another girl either way until he said once again he missed me again but once again I said no and he said he liked her again but now I know he is forcing a crush and the only reason he asked me out was because of a game so he continued being rude to me and sometimes sends me messages of the girl and says I hope we come together so I was done will him and I stopped being nice and gave him the respect he gave to me and that was none so I finally shut him up. Don't be afraid of talking back. Show him what he is missing. Sing the song if you need to, trust me they don't feel like the man when you show them.
