The reason why I became a fan of Lana because of the 50s-90s song references. And the fact that she has collab'ed with Stevie Nicks, Sean Ono Lennon, dated Axl Rose, and now performing with Joan Baez!!!!! What a lucky queen.

And there isn't any rust! Her voice remains. I lived in Brooklyn back in the early 70's. The City was so alive. Then came the 1st wave of Yuppies. The City has lost a lot! But lost a lot with the artists, paintings,, everyone couldn't afford the jacked up rents. Now the outer boroughs are getting squeezed out. Still ❤ the City has many problems, it is still the greatest city in the world! Living in Toronto. Can not wait to move back to Brooklyn. Not wealthy, but comfortable. Try to donate what we are able to do now.

The beautiful Lana does add her nice harmonies in with the Legend's lead vocals... I've loved Joan Baez since I was a child in the 1960's. She has always been captivating to me. And now....so soft and ethereal-like...haunting even, Lana added so much with so little actually added. It's really nice seeing the artistry from different generations come in to today. I loved it!! ⚪💚 🎩 🌙

Well, I'll be damned Here comes your ghost again But that's not unusual It's just that the moon is full And you happened to call And here I sit Hand on the telephone Hearing a voice I'd known A couple of light years ago Heading straight for a fall As I remember your eyes Were bluer than robin's eggs My poetry was lousy you said Where are you calling from? A booth in the midwest Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks You brought me something We both know what memories can bring They bring diamonds and rust Well, you burst on the scene Already a legend The unwashed phenomenon The original vagabond You strayed into my arms And there you stayed Temporarily lost at sea The Madonna was yours for free Yes, the girl on the half-shell Could keep you unharmed Now I see you standing With brown leaves falling all around And snow in your hair Now you're smiling out the window Of that crummy hotel Over Washington Square Our breath comes out white clouds Mingles and hangs in the air Speaking strictly for me We both could have died then and there Now you're telling me You're not nostalgic Then give me another word for it You who are so good with words And at keeping things vague 'Cause I need some of that vagueness now It's all come back too clearly Yes, I loved you dearly And if you're offering me diamonds and rust I've already paid

If you are hearing her music here for the first time, you have a misimpession. By any standard, she is an old woman (as I am an old man) and while her guitar, bearing and phrasing is as it ever was, her voice is not. You can hear it as it was and as it deepened and grew with her music to be able to hear the artist not just as she is today but the way she embodies how a generation embodied its time. That is a time that we who lived it can never relive, even in memory and that you who came after can ever know enough to understand explicitly. But if you listen with an open heart you can feel it and then map it to your own life’s arc.
