I miss how Lana looked when she first came out. I loved the huge red hair, the heavyly winged eyeliner, her beautiful dresses, the whole Priscilla Prestley vibe. It suited her so well, I wish she still rocked this look. I know she has to evolve, and this look is not really conducive to the NFR era, but shit, she was so stunning during this time! No one does glamour like Lana Del Rey (back in 2011/2012). Her more recent live performances are much improved from this time, but I kinda miss this vulnerable, frightened green version of her. She’s enthralling to watch!

@dracarys now we’re lucky if she wears makeup to shows.. not saying she needs it at all I mean she doesn’t seem to care or put effort in.. I loved her outfits and big hair it’s just so boring to me now. Just my opinion nobody come for me lol
@chrissy87382 жыл бұрын
@Torkis Irawan to be fair her recent stuff has also been pretty successful. It has more to do with taste than it does "denial" so it's understandable why some people may not be into her other albums due to her shifting and experiencing another genre.
@Daphnaaaa8 ай бұрын
And till this day she didn't go back 😭 I love her and I love all her albums, old and new. But ohh how I miss this time. I feel like she really felt what she sang. She did her thing, dared to be different. And she feels what she sings but it's more mellow, not as deep dark music nowadays. Love for her she's (hopefully) happier. But these old concert videos are GOLD. And I feel so nostalgic and miss these days, I wish I had the chance to see her live back then!

I wonder if people realize that when you actually sing, you rely on yourself. It's normal to be nervous. What you're hearing is all her. Sorry the idiots you listen to parade around stage half naked and lip sync. Why would be nervous? They don't have any talent to prove. They rely on a track, and their distracting outfits to get through their shows. Lana has genuine, God given talent. The people who think otherwise are the ones who like generic pop artists who lip sync.

Hey Lana, this is the future, in eleven year's time you will be playing solo sold out stadium shows . Your output will be prolific, releasing 9 critically acclaimed albums and you will even write a poetry book. You 'll be widely acknowledged as one of the greatest contemporary singer songwriters of the past decade and will win Billboard's Visionary Award at the tender age of 37. Thank you for everything!

This version of Summertime Sadness is so much better than the album version. The jazzier, more piano forwards sound gives the track a vintage vibe that the album version doesn't have.

I think some singers are made for the studio or the studio is made for them and some can be great doing live while others dont do well with audiences. I think she has the most unusual, sultry voice Ive heard but - it seems she has to be in a studio to really capture the essence. Ive seen some of her performances on KZbin and some are good and some okay - but I have also seen a lot of other musicians not have a good day on stage.Sometimes its the presence that takes the fans and not so much the music each time. But Im a big big fan and think her music and videos are out of this world!!!
@lydiaring412410 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but you have to remember that in the studio you have a million takes. Most people with a decent singing voice could make a nice sounding song if they have a good producer. The question is, if you can only sing in a studio are you really all that talented? I still like her. Maybe she can sing well live without the huge audience.
@robbie945910 жыл бұрын
Lydia Ring If we're being fair though, Lana's newest album, "Ultraviolence" was recorded live with her singing straight through with a 4-piece band behind her. No other artist has the talent or the authenticity to record an entire album live with minimal editing like Lana does. However, her BTD album isn't song live as well as it should be, because she did in fact have a lot of takes to record that album. Performances of her newer material are far more impressive.
