I think what Lana is trying to express here, especially with the use of the How to disappear sample, is that she proved herself wrong. The final lines of How to disappear go “I’m always going to be right here.” She continues the story in this song, describing how she actually came to escape L.A. and the lifestyle that was becoming toxic to her. “Calabasas/cameras flashing.” And now, people will no longer love her for her fame and success “I’m not a star.” Rather, they’ll love her for who she is. “If they love me, they love me because I’m wild at heart.” Just my take.

Damn.... i lost my father in august... ive been numb.. this album is bringing be back to life. Lana has always helped me get through life. Her music always heals me. I remember back in 2012 i was working at walmart, everynight after work i would go to my car and cry to born to die summer time sadness.
