I really love Henry's and Regina's relationship. Thank God the creators realized that just because he was adopted and Regina was a villain didn't mean that he wasn't her son and that they didn't love each other. I always thought that the way Henry was portrayed in the first season was unrealistic. How could a biological mother, a stranger, who gave his son in closed adoption could come to a town and take the child away from the mother who raised him for 10 yrs. It just doesn't make any sense.
@shermanlee40376 жыл бұрын
Sure it does, when you consider how bad things were between Regina and Henry. Remember, it wasn't _just_ that he was adopted. The problem was the Curse. Long before Emma came, Henry had noticed that he was the only one aging in the whole town, the only one (aside from Regina) with a free mind! As soon as he was old enough to realize how strange Storybrooke was, he would of course turn to Regina for an explanation...and equally of course she would have to lie. Henry's smart and would soon perceive that she was lying to him, but she _couldn't_ tell him the truth. Henry would start to notice had badly she treated everyone else, too, and pretty soon their relationship was on the skids. By the time Henry went for Emma, he was desperately lonely, alienated from Regina, who was trying to convince him he was crazy, and well aware of her evil nature. Yes, he loved her, and she loved him...but that's not enough under conditions like that. Of course he preferred Emma for quite some time after that.

we gotta be so greatful for this woman, she's responsable for my favorite relationship on OUAT. And such a shame she had to actually sit and remind the producers that Regina was Henry's mother and that Emma's appearence doesn't erase their past and their life.

I love her. I rarely like celebrities this much, but I LOVE her. Everything she's saying here is so true, and the fact that the whole conversation is making this passionate and lively woman so emotional makes her even more precious to me.

Regina's love for Henry is one of my favorite aspects of her character. It always set her apart and elevated her above being just a stock 'evil villain'. That scene is one of my favorite moments in the series, and what i consider Regina's first step down her long road towards redemption. I'm glad Lana fought to keep this integral part of Regina in the show.

God, I love this woman. She is so down to Earth, and her performance on the show is wonderful. It is really sad indeed that she had to fight for that on screen relationship, but I am so glad she did, because they were missing out on such an important part of the show. It was very annoying when they almost cleared Regina out of the picture when Emma came along. So happy they are focusing more on them =)

My favorite scene between Regina and Emma has to be when Regina see Henry after the second curse and they talk in the hallway that made may heart go sad for a minute.

The stair part is my favourite too! Lana is such an inspiration and I hated when they disowned Regina and Henry's relationship back in s1!! So glad they're close now! I would not be watching the show if there was no Regina/Lana
@shermanlee40376 жыл бұрын
They pretty much had to disown it. Regina was _so_ bad in S1, had been so bad a mother and messed things up so badly, that to have the Regal Believer relationship work at all, they pretty much had to reboot it. It actually strained belief that they would repair their relationship as quickly as they did, but they only had 40 minutes a week to work with, too.

I’m so glad Lana fought for that. The relationship between Regina and Henry was always one of my favourites and a part of me couldn’t help but think Regina loved him more than Emma ever did, even if she didn’t always know how to show it. Maybe this is why lol. I also get the impression Lana used the passion she displayed in this video in her acting anytime she had to fight to save Henry in the show. Love her so much and love Regina too. She was always my favourite character ❤

Let's be honest, guys: If it were up to Lana, we would already have had season 8 and even a 9th one of OUAT. You can see in Lana's eyes the powerful passion she has for this project. I think the most interesting and fascinating relationship in the show was the one of Regina and Henry's. From Season 1 up to Season 7, the relationship between them was one of the highlights.

The reason we didn't have S7 or S8 (or a good S6 or S7) is Adam and Eddie. They gave in to self-indulgence and destroyed their own show.

THANK YOU LANA!!!! I HATED Emma thinking that just because she gave birth to Henry, she could just take over. I hated the way Henry instantly started calling Emma "Mom" when he barely knew her! And all of that was made worse after the curse broke and the rest of the clan got involved.
@shermanlee40376 жыл бұрын
Emma could take over because Regina is a murderess, a child abuser, because she made that apple tart that nearly destroyed her son, because she trapped her son in a cursed town where he could only be lonely and miserable, and then attacked his sanity when he perceived these things. Regina was a _terrible_ mother to Henry in those days. I mean come on, I love Lana's acting too, but Regina was a monster and Henry was trapped with her! Emma wasn't even going to _try_ to take over, she deferred to Regina's place in Henry's life until it became clear that Regina was a threat to Henry and in the process of destroying him! It's all there in Season One, folks.

@shermanlee40372 жыл бұрын
@@janninelays1852 Regina's 'feelings' count for very little. Her crimes define her in S1, and she was an abusive parent who was a direct threat to Henry's sanity and (indirectly, by the natural consequences of her actions) his physical safety. What was Regina planning to do as Henry grew up, anyway? What happens when he's 15, or 20, in a cursed town where time is frozen? What happens as he comes to understand, more and more clearly, what a monster Regina was? What happens when he _inevitably_ tries to escape, eventually? She can't afford to let him leave, he knows too much, but by that time he either really would have cracked up under the stress or he'd hate her so bad he'd be a threat to her. Emma coming to Storybrooke was one of the best things that ever happened to Regina, it saved her from the consequences of her own lack of foresight. And as for Emma being a 'good mother', that isn't relevant either. The issue was that Regina was an abusive, bad one, and Emma was the only other candidate in sight, and she was at least sane and rational.

To be honest, I never really liked Emma, even though she was part of one of my favourite couples, I saw her as a bit more of a villain in season 1 because of everything with Henry. But also there was always something really immature about Emma that annoyed me. But then again, all the "Charmings" have annoyed me at some point, mostly because of how judgemental they were, and calling themselves "Heroes".
@shermanlee40376 жыл бұрын
Regina is the villain in S1 with Henry, not Emma. You can't escape form that unless you simply rewrite the entire season into something else, which is what a lot fans mentally do. But Emma was the one on Henry's side, Regina was the problem. There just isn't any other side to that.

So Lube Is it the scene after she imprisons him in her house, but realizes she's only turning her son against her, and lets him go to Emma? I haven't gotten around to rewatching the series, and "the scene in the staircases" isn't very specific.
