The reality is you can't truly compare yourself to others, because when you do it, you're not actually comparing yourself to others, but you're comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone's highlight reel.

As a person, who had been bullied for being chubby, it is so unbelievable to hear, that skinny girls had issues about being skinny... I guess people judge everything. Growing up I always thought that life would be easier if I was thin...and now I hear a person, who has the body type I always dreamed about... Talk about how they tried to be thicker.. This is sad.. Nothing is good enough for society, so we must just love ourselves and show it to the world and those haters.

I definitely agree with separating yourself from things that are pulling you into envy. I used to think this made me weak because I couldn't handle certain things without being jealous but honestly once I started removing things from my life, I started to care about them less as well. Just giving things attention is what made them important in my life and once I no longer gave them time, they stopped mattering as much

Confession: I used to compare myself to you alot to the point I became jealous of you. I noticed that I always compare myself to people who have similar personality to me. And usually I would envy everyone, it almost felt like they stole something from me, like if it wasn't for their existence I would have got that position. Jealousy makes us feel like those people we envy took our achievement : I should be the one in that position... Ect. Usually I'm good not comparing myself to others but I cannot help it but fall to the mistake of comparing myself to people who have my type of personality and face? (weird I know hhh). But I forced my self to watch you and instead of hating you, I learned to learn from you. I started Journaling because of your video and by writing more and more, I was no longer in denial with my negative emotions. Admetting i'm jealous was hard but few days later when I got the notification of a new upload: I was no longer holding bad thoughts nor comparing myself t you. It's like with my confession, all the emotions blew away. Thank you Lana for being you and perfectly perfect from your imperfections

Comparing ourselves to others is the worst we can do. No one is the same and we're all made in our own way. We just need to be good people and be a better person than u were yesterday. Focus on yourself not others to be happy.

I am just coming out of ED and being comfortable in my own body & mind has been my top priority lately. There is so much we learn about ourselves once we stop comparing and start looking within, the potential we have and the core of our truth. There will always be fall backs but with every fall, we discover a strength that was previously unknown. I hope all of you find that love and acceptance within yourself, that you truly ARE. (:

My friend and I were just talking about this yesterday. About how if you start to feel jealous, don’t resent that person. Let them inspire you and let them know that. It makes me feel better when I compliment and/or like photos of people I may feel envy towards. It feels like I’m rejecting my insecurity, but it’s still hard. Just gotta remember no ones life is perfect, and be thankful for what I have. Cliche... but yeah.

Now I adore my nose, I love the difference in my nose and how it makes me look unique, I actually love showing it off now from a side point too. I'm still struggling with mental comparison especially on certain social media platforms like Facebook & Twitter. I really do need to just step away from that and focus on working on myself with what I actually am already happy with. Comparison truly is the thief of joy, thank you for the insightful video!

I believe somewhere it's somehow related to our childhood... When we are kids we believe our parents and our relatives to be loving, we seek attention as a child.. when we are compared with any other kid.. them being given more importance.. it hurts us.. it goes deep inside our mind and.. we start believing them.. and that is where the game starts.. well i believe it's completely reversible.. ❤️❤️❤️

I just think that i will never be like them all the time, that happiness is far from me and that i will never reach it. Now i know that all people have different abilities and that i cannot have the same of everybody else and the most is that this world is so scary that certain days i don't want to wake up :D self esteem is my problem i know and you're so courageous to tell to everyone this :) trust me, too many people have low self esteem, i am not the only one.

I think that most of us struggle with comparing ourselves with people online nowadays. Social media can really be a great place to be. You just need to make sure that you are creating a healthy environment for yourself on there. If you keep your room tidy, why wouldn't you do the same with your social accounts? Both your time and your mental health are at risk if you are not mindful about what you get to interact with on there. I've been in the "comparing myself to others" loop hole before and it's not a nice place to be. Trust me.
