So deeply appreciate your own deep appreciation of this history: the Covenanters have changed my life and deepen my own conviction.

I grew up in Cathcart Glasgow and in Old Cathcart Kirk yard there is a Covenanter mass grave with a big tombstone. Well worth a visit. The hardship that the Covenantors endured make our present difficulties appear trivial. Their strength of character and faith are an inspiration.

Amazing history from the Scottish Reformation. I have been reading on the Scottish Covenanters lately and their faith and zeal is just something remarkable for me as a Christian. Great job on the educational details here! May God bless this endeavor of yours for the good of His people and His glory. For Christʼs Crown and Covenant!

Fascinating history. I'm from kilmarnock which is another strong covenating town. Incedently I'm a member of St Kentigern Church in Kilmarnock. I have heard a story that the reason why alot of Presbyterian Churches in Scotland have RED doors is because it's to commemorate the blood of the covenanters but I don't know how true it is but it makes sense to me.

Do try a visit to Airdrie public library, we have the flag carried by John Main of Ballochney at The Battle of Bothwell Bridge,it's kept covered from sun light! There is a facsimile in Greyfriars Church in Edinburgh!

Thanks for this information. William Harvie's gravestone appears in remarkably good condition for a 1682 burial - is there a local society that tends to the graves of the martyrs?

I think with William Hervies grave it's some locals in Lanark who look after it. My wife and I also clean them up when we can.
