To think this used to be my least favourite dungeon when I was a kid. Now I love being there, and loved being reminded of this place by the Sheikah Shrines in Breath of the Wild. It actually made me think that the Sheikah may have gotten inspiration from the ancient robots from the past, and I even thought the blue energy was timeshift stones being used for the Guardians and Divine Beasts.

I'm so glad that someone else takes the time to appreciate the room of a boss after it is defeated. I always do, not only to keep an eye out for potential secrets like rupees or pieces of heart, but to take a breather and actually take in the design of the room, since they usually cannot be appreciated fully when the boss holds your attention. When I saw the boss room following the fight with Moldarach, I was stunned - it made me want to see how it looked like with a Timeshift Stone, which isn't possible sadly :(

This is such a good dungeon, imo. I love the time shift stone mechanic, I think it's so original and interesting! I love how the music changes in the shifted areas too ☺️ haha I'm sorry that you don't like the music in here, because I love it! It keeps you on the edge of your seat lol 😝 I didn't think to use a shield parry on the beamos, so thanks for that 👍🏼 the bottom of the boss room is so cool!! This dungeon is so visually stunning at times and it's great. Girahim is still the best overly dramatic baddie 😍 and also, I love the gust bellows! 😂 Great analysis again! Can't wait for the next ☺️👏🏼

I always loved the music tbh. I remember being a kid and wandering through this empty dungeon, digging the lonely sounding music. I liked the past version too it still felt the same even though it sounded futuristic. Then nearly a decade later of revisiting it, I had all sorts of memories just from listening to that music again. Lol brought that nostalgia back, but yeah it’s personally my favorite. I applaud you for jumping down at 11:50 cuz I HATE having to find my way around those stupid traps. I love the dungeon but it was definitely annoying at times I’m glad the remake is easier to control because I lost so many times to the beamos on the Wii haha. I could appreciate how the scorpion boss was easy to defeat though. After that long dungeon I just wanted to hurry up and move to the next chapter Edit: I also find it ironic how now you see a lot of people saying how they regret being too harsh on the game and their minds changed once they played it. Lol so stupid tbh. Well hopefully this hd remake is selling better than the Wii version and the Zelda team is happy

As a former percussionist who loved the mallet instruments. It could be a xylophone but most of the mallet percussion in the song is actually a marimba. I get it’s not everyone’s taste but I always love marimba in soundtracks

I love the amount of detail you put into these videos- using Fi’s voice for the transitions (Midna in the TP videos), the attention to the wall and floor designs, and how you take the time to walk over to blocked paths to have the footage!

On a side note, I really like how the beetle gets an upgrade from an ancient robot to allow you to pick up bombs and drop them into holes from above - this is yet again, a new take on using bombs for the series. The desert area was definitely more challenging than the previous two areas especially with ancient bokobolins that use electric swords to attack you, sinking sand as well as using time-shift stones as yet another new mechanic to change your surroundings in order to access certain areas. That concept in itself could work really well for the future of the series if a certain item allowed you to change time at will (ocarina of time for example). Imagine visiting a village/town but you could return there in the past and change events of the future or get items than you could never get in the present (similar to Oracle of Ages but more realised for a massive 3D Game). I think Nintendo originally planned to put technological/futuristic elements in the Zelda Series, which seems odd at first given that it already fits well in a medieval/fantasy genre but in this particular area of the game, I think it works really well without it being totally out of place if you get what I mean. The Lanayru Mining Facility is perhaps the most technologically inspired dungeon I've seen in the series, although Great Bay Temple definitely has an industrial technological feel to it too... I definitely thought this dungeon was much more difficult than the previous two dungeons as accessibility is largely restricted at the beginning and feel as though some of the complex puzzle mechanics reflects the general theme of the complexity of technology itself - activating the time-shift stones in order to operate once fully operational machinery to navigate certain rooms. Not the most enjoyable of dungeons if I'm totally honest, the music is incredibly repetitive as you say and I completely agree (there are so many really cool dungeon soundtracks, for example, The Forest Temple and Stone Tower Temple which is also inverted half-way through completing the dungeon which sound so cool and masterfully suit the dungeons they represent) but the transition between the present time music contrasting with the past time music is a nice touch to the theme of the dungeon and that theme of contrast has already been established through using the time-shift stones before even entering the dungeon most likely to prepare the player for the challenges ahead. The mini-boss is a bit disappointing as it seems like a copy and paste job from the previous dungeon mini-boss by having two fairly strong enemies instead of one unique mini-boss but oh well. The dungeon item is quite fun, 'The Gust Bellows.' It reminded me a lot of Luigi's Poltergeist 3000 Vacuum in reverse. Its use is self-explanatory. Using the dungeon item against the flying pufferfish bomb type enemies is surprisingly fun and another cool way to clear obstacles in your path. The dungeon boss actually seemed pretty cool in its design (its obviously a scorpion and scorpions are usually found in sandy deserts and this makes contextual sense) and agreed that it was much better than the previous dungeon boss, however what makes this boss fight less epic is the fact that it's re-used as a 'mini-boss type enemy' in another part of the desert area later in the game, so for me, it loses its uniqueness and appeal as a dungeon boss but despite its drawbacks, it's much more of a challenge than the previous fight against Scaldera, which quite frankly was embarrassingly easy. Moldarach did have more of an immediate threat level and its strong armour and claws was an interesting challenge as well as hiding in the sand in order to stealthily attack its prey is cool. What would have maybe made this fight more challenging and more engaging was if Moldarach's tail was poisoned and Link would get poisoned as a result of getting hit by its tail but 'poisoning' and using 'antidotes' doesn't seem to be a thing in most Zelda Series Games if ever? (perhaps something they could consider for future enemy/boss fights?) The scene where Link leaves the dungeon to access The Temple of Time where The Gate of Time is very visually appealing and is a really nice scene at the end of the dungeon.

I was in awe with this dungeon the first time I played it. I wasn't thinking much of it when I was going through the first few rooms in the present era, but then I hit that Timeshift Stone and, upon seeing all the machinery come back to functionality, I felt like I was being transported to the future (though it was technically the past, haha) It's funny how people panicked when they saw trains in Spirit Tracks and thought the series was getting too futuristic... and then SS, BOTW and TOTK came out and all of a sudden the trains didn't seem too big a deal. XD (Also, nowadays one can wonder if all the ancient tech in SS derived from the Sheikah or the Zonai. It would make sense)

The gust jar could blow out, it just had to suck in first 🙂 just replayed Minish cap to 100% it recently so it’s fresh in my mind. Never got all the statues, pieces of heart or Minish stones on first play through. Love the video as always, and I also always got mad and never understood the point of having the enemies explode into rupees over mostly bottomless pits except maybe to bait the player into jumping for them and wasting some hearts 🤷‍♀️ can’t wait for the ancient cistern, by far my favorite dungeon in this game, rivaled by the moving dungeon puzzle to **spoilers if you haven’t finished Skyward Sword** obtain the triforce at the end.

that part in the pre-dungeon "chores" where you have to douse in the desert to find the alternate entrance...I got stuck and stopped playing for months in the original version. I hope the HD version makes that part a little less obtuse (or maybe I'm older now and more patient. perhaps both?)

I really like your dungeon reviews! It’s nice to see some of the dungeons best aspects when your not in a rush to get through it. If I get stuck I always use your videos as a guide. They work really well as that. You don’t spend to long explaining each thing so if I get stuck I just pop on on of your dungeon videos and it really helps. Much better than text guides.

I'll try my best to keep ahead of each video next time... I can see why you don't necessarily enjoy the music of this one, but I do think it does what it's supposed to do as far as tension :) And ahhhh yes, the classic Zelda eyeball weak spot trope! Hylian Translations in this video: 12:11 The Item: Gust Bellows The Gust Bellows is very similar to the Gust Jar seen in Minish Cap, but works in the opposite way. It is an ancient device which creates endless gusts of wind. Great for dispersing small lightweight enemies, dust, and sand. 12:02 Moldarach The Thousand Year Arachnid Moldarach is a fully matured aracha. It can grab you with its powerful claws, but these are also a weakness. Poke the eyeballs, give ‘em a scabby poke, poke, poke, then it dies. P.S. For the Moldarach text some of the words were cut off by the picture of Moldarach, so I used context clues to fill in the gaps.

Definitely disagree with you about the music; I think it's great and it never would have ocurred to me that people could find it annoying. This is one of my favourite temples in all of Zelda, just because of how perfectly the Timeshift Stone mechanic is pulled off.

while i did not like this dungeon, i do think the boss key room is one of the best dungeon rooms in the game. i also really liked the second generator room to unlock the temple. i feel like this dungeon would have been much better if it had more of a navigation themed structure involving the time shift stones and having mine cart puzzles similar to the oracle games.

i feel like they really could have used the time shift stones in the boss or something like think of a mechanical boss that is undefeatable in the past but damaged and barely functional in the present so you would have to turn the time shift stone off to be able to deal damage

Not every dungeon in the series is a temple. Really OOT set that trend having all of its adult era dungeons named “temples”, but if you count every dungeon in the series overall- no. Most of them are not temples. In fact, Pre-OOT none of them were called temples, and post-OOT there’s some that are, some that aren’t. Heck, THIS dungeon is not even a temple. So no. Dungeons is the correct term. It’s the blanket term the games even use. You don’t receive the “temple map”, you find the “dungeon map” etc.
