Lance hit the nail on the head. I love the scenes on my layout, but it really doesn't (and shouldn't) matter what someone else thinks. He/she is not in my train room; I am. Great interview, Ray. Lance is one of the GOATS.

Enjoyed every second of it! Lance is a true master in the hobby and is definitely one of the driving forces behind capturing all these industrial operations whether trackside or in model form. I really appreciate the thoughtful shoutout too! As a note Omni Transloading has four warehouses on FEC property each with all these different contracts, and their Commerce Park operation is part of the main focus of my HO layout.

This is a really insightful conversation. I have been following Lance for years, but I never really thought to learn more about him and his "why." I have struggled with my 'why' for a while (mainly because of internet envy), but this conversation was a reminder to me why I got into the hobby, and how I will proceed going forward. Thank you for this!

Great episode with Lance. I have no idea how my name comes up when you search for Lance but I'll bet his books come up when you search my name. I think we might have been separated at birth! 😉 Yes model railroading is art. Being exposed to art through our children who were involved in the visual arts has improved my model railroading.
