The 60s and 70s was an awesome time for concept cars. Some impressive models, by todays standards still look futuristic. I guess if micheal jackson was gonna change into a car in his "moonwalker" movie, it had to be this car. Sure has that sci-fi look about it.

The description of this is spot on a 1970 Lancia Concept Zero, filmed in 1983 for the docu 'Too Fast To Race' which was re-released onto DVD in 2003.

When it came out in 1970 they called it Stratos as the initial reaction was that this car could go to the stratosphere. It still looks far ahead of it's time. At the rate of how they make and design cars we'll be driving one like this with a cold fusion reactor in...2100, if the car manufacturers ever get off of their complacent butts.

Simply gorgious I saw the car in person at Hampton court palace. I then created a stain glass panel. Mesmerising styling statement. This and the Lp400 are my favourite Bertone designs

The engine and much of the other innards of the car are from the Lancia Fulvia Coupe. The designer of this prototype was actually Marcello Gandini who has been bertone's major designer for decades - think Stratos (the production car as well!), Montreal, Miura, Countach, Diablo...

The one used in the "Moonwalker" was actually a replica, built just for the movie. Check out the video response to this, you can tell them apart because the movie replica has longer side windows.

Venduta all'alsta a Villa D'Este, perdiamo un'altro pezzo importantissimo di storia italiana. Quand'è che ci faremo furbi e ci terremo le nostre scoperte, i nostri capolavori? Probabilmente finirà nascosta in qualche parco macchine privato , chissà dove. Dovrebbe essere patrimonio pubblico, in queste occasioni si dovrebbe organizzare una raccolta e acquistarla donandola ad un museo
