Is more about protecting their own brand and reputation but, yeah, certain moves can be that silly though. They have done the same to many many things they considered "violations of the brand", including black-listing consumers in the process. Starting from people that over-stretched Ferrari berlinettas to convert them into limousines to famous people who had the idea of uploading a pic of their Ferrari putting a couple knickers over them in Instagram. Passing through the most infamous case, The alknown "Purrari" of DeadMaus, which lead McLaren to gift him a car customized with the same motifs of that Ferrari with Nyancat vinyls as a result.

I thing a cheap low cost car with similar performance in suspention balance was the Fiat X 1/9. Middle engine, no over steering, no under steering. A friend of mine had one and he took me for a ride. Pushing the car to the limits around a curve, the car starts to slide like a surfboard with no over or under steering, perfectly controlable with the gas throttle. In 1955 Lancia gave their F1 racing team cars with the fabulous D50 and its V8 engines to Ferrari,so it was not a one way trade. It was a sense of national pride to keep things Italian, but as we see Enzo did not make reciprocation easy. Also complicated with inhouse Fiat politics. Keep up the good work,

I love the Stratos. I'm not a full blown otaku, But I do watch a few anime series.. (Stay with me now, It's relevant.) One of those is Ghost In The Shell - Stand Alone Complex. It takes place in the 2030's (I think.) But one of the main characters named Bateau, drives a yellow Lancia Stratos. The car was never called by any name, but Bateau got chided for driving such an old car, with another character having to drive it when Bateau has to chase a criminal on foot. The other guy, Togusa, is warned to not scratch the car. To which he responds, "It's not like I'm gonna take this old thing for a joyride.." ANYHOO.. Ever since I saw that series, I loved the design and was thrilled to later find out it was real. Now you show me that new version.. SEXY A.F!! I love how they kept it true to the original with the same lines, shape and layout. Jeez, if I had a few million laying around. I would have an original Stratos, In yellow, of course.
