Three weeks before harvesting tobacco each tobacco plant needs to be deflowered. The flower bud and growth must be removed from the plant. If allowed to grow it will sap energy from the plant and stop leaf growth. Leaf size and quality directly result in higher prices when sold. Here we watch a tobacco grower top his plants and then stop suckering growth by spraying the plants with an anti-sucker chemical.
