Big hayfields worked with horses, it is doable and the Amish do it on their profitable farms.

Here in Missouri a lot of Amish farmers acquired skid steers within the last ten years. The Amish are masters in adapting modern technology to their way where it makes sense without going 'overboard'.

Just use tractors you're already using fuel powered engines to run the equipment so what is the point of using horses?? Makes no sense

No, it makes a lot of sense, the engines use a lot less fuel than tractors and cost less, too.

@@brianhayes7618 True, but does it produce manure on daily that can be used to fertilize the land? A smart farmer avoids to spend money that leaves the farm, horses can be fed with the products of the farm (grass, hay and grain) and at the same time put fertilizer=money back into the farm.
