I hate to be that guy, but breaking into UX/UI is not easy. Companies would rather hire people with years and years of experience in that field. They hardly employ individuals who are just breaking into that field. Also, your portfolio must really stand out before you are considered. When the recruiter goes through your portfolio in less than 5 mins, he looks for certain key points in a project. If he doesn't see it or your project doesn't make sense, you're gone! It's a lot more than designing.
