Is this DA Critical State Infrastructure? Did it need to be referred to the Commonwealth for approval? Is there alternative cleared agricultural/degraded land available nearby? These are confronting images but so are open cut mines, coal fired power stations and associated infrastructure. Have a look at what NSW Forestry Corporation are currently doing in our native forests if you want to see land clearing of critical habitat. This is small fry. I expect the 20 year lifespan would mean the turbines would be replaced at the end of life? Or is it a license that requires the land be returned to original? Interesting to see that the pro nuclear movement have come on board with publicising this. Nuclear energy could have and arguably should have been employed in Australia in the 1950's and 60's but the Coal industry and it's lobbying power and big unions were never going to let that happen were they. We are all possibly better off because that didn't happen, as the radioactive waste issue will always be a costly negative. New safer and more efficient nuclear fission technologies are still a long way off in terms of practical base load installations and are currently an expensive alternative to wind and solar. Increase in demand for EVs is going to exacerbate this situation.

Nuclear energy is deadly and a stupid proposition for Far North Queensland that is subject to cyclones and flooding rain. Shut your flapping uneducated mouth. Dams are the only solution to provide clean drinking water for humans and agriculture and reliable hydro electricity that is capable of powering industry. Nuclear energy is impossible to safely dispose of when it short life span is over. Nuclear power plants are an easy target should any foreign enemy choose to invade Australia. Which is highly likely when you consider the clowns that we have governing Australia.

I wonder where the person is that told me that they don't clear land for renewables, but that they ONLY use land that has been cleared by farmers 100 years ago! Based on that, this footage is of very good quality, considering it is of clearing that was done "100 years previously!!?!" Either that, or the know-all that said that is a born liar, or, really out of touch with what's happening! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

I work in forestry and I'm appalled by this. Forestry NSW harvest timber on a sustained yield basis and regenerate all harvested areas as forest. Its completely different to permanently clearing land as is being done for this development. The problem with renewable energy is it takes an awful lot of land to generate what was produced from a single coal fired power plant. The current estimate is renewables will need to cover an area half the size of Victoria to generate sufficient electricity.

@@melissabennett1168 I wish that more people would see the truth (as you do) and face the undeniable facts! Surely they can see for themselves what's happening right under their noses!

@davow8 It would be interesting to know how much nuclear installation a person could purchase for $500 BILLION DOLLARS! That's the estimated amount that The Energy Minister Bowen will spend by the zero emissions date.(His date!) Also, if the claim is $500 BILLION, you can bet that it'll be near double in reality! (Think :- Snowy Mountain scheme 2.0!)
