Күн бұрын

The FINAL MILES of our North Atlantic Ocean Crossing. 4 months ago we set off to make this forbidding ocean passage. Join us as we dodge fishing boats to catch our own fresh fish for dinner and see our first glimpse of England since we set off to sail around the world over 7 years ago.
We have been sailing around the world for 7 years after setting off from England in 2016 on board our 37ft sail boat Florence. Join us as we share the highs, lows, and challenges of travelling around the world by boat, Sailing offshore across the Oceans and exploring remote locations with our own little tiny house. Boat life out at sea on the ocean and off the grid.

This made me cry. I don't even know you but I've watched for about 5 years on the treadmill and you've kept me in great shape! Now I have people looking at me weird a grown man crying on a treadmill in the gym 😂😂😂. Congrats guys, I know you've been back for a couple months but for all of us, your circumnavigation happens as we find moments to watch it. I watch in awe of what you have experienced. You should be so proud of yourselves.

A sobering fact - "this is the longest I have lived anywhere". Thanks for sharing this. Hurry up and catch the rest of the tuna so you are back in neutral territory, or waters, again! Welcome home. I do not know about you, I appreciated the uncelebrated quiet of your arrival, Some other travelers homecomings have seemed so stressful.

Like the previous episode, you can hear the mixed emotions in your speech. Amy’s piece to camera seemed tinged with sadness and I can only imagine the jumble of emotions of elation at your achievement, excitement of seeing friends and family, but also the realisation that the pattern of your life for the past 7 years was drawing to a close, and while you have plans, just how do you just top that?! Even your focus on the sounds of St Agnes … and yes, they are _so_ typically British seaside sounds … seems like an attempt to distract your minds from the enormity of the moment. I can only imagine how you were both feeling inside

With a 37 foot vessel, on average, how ĺong did it take from Cape Town to London!? I have tentative plans to sail a 30 - 35' yacht from SA to England and want a reasonable estimate how long to expect to be at sea.

@@stephenkillick5812, you can follow their episodes, but they followed a pretty regular route NW from SA to the Brazilian coast, the up through the Windwards to Bermuda, out across to the Azores and then back home. This gives you the trades, but they stopped and explored (a lot) on the way, so would you be 'hot-footing it', or taking time? I don't know how many long ocean passages you have planned, but something to consider is 'comfort' and the crew. Beating to windward for weeks end takes its toll which is why the trades are so often followed, both for the 'conveyor belt' of the ocean drifts (1-2Kn in places) and more tolerable life for both boat and especially crew 🙂

Hi Matt and Amy, yes you made it, Congratulations!. I was very happy to see you dropping anchor just a couple of hundred meters from land somewhere up in the coast of England, after seven years of setting off from the same, and after you have succesfully completed your circumnavigation of the globe. I dont know the exact location where you arrived, but I am sure has to be somewhere up in the southern tip of the peninsula of Cornwall. I dont know how far you are at this moment from the tini tiny town of St Agnez in that area, but that´s the place where my great-grandpa was born in England, just to let you know I have plans to visit that area this coming year just for the sake of meeting some of my long realtives who still live in that area.I wish and hope we can meet in person some day in the near future. Thanks for all the wonderful videos you guys have released over these couple of years I have been watching your KZbin channel. bear hugs to you both.

Absolutely amazing guys, quite emotional after such a long and good journey. I've been following you since the early episodes, as I spotted you were anchored next to a boat I've sailed on that same season. So that made me watch more episodes and got me hooked. And a year later I also did an ocean crossing. Now it feels like its (almost) foul round, as the Scillies is also familiar territory for me. Thanks for all the amazing videos, I hope you keep on doing this in your future sailing plans.

Thanks again for this wonderfully enriching episode.❤ Wonderful sailing weather and conditions, beautiful images, fun together, good food, boat in her element, dolphins playing.🎉 Gives me a lot of pleasure and energy...and needed after the tarpaulin over my sailboat (=house) gave way in the storm here😢😅 (wasn't quite 8+ storm proof yet...the storm unfortunately came too early for me to make it that and won...will soon when wind downs remove it and find other solution for to leaking teak deck...always been in awe of the wind, definitely now😅).
