This is something that I am lacking in my toolbox, Thanks for doing this series. I know how to use a map in the city, but I haven't used it since I discovered google maps. Will you be addressing where to get quality maps in your final segment on map types? I am assuming I could still order USGS maps & co-ordinate them with standard road maps or an atlas. Thank You for putting out quality information.

Thanks this is one of the most important skills I think you can learn. I only know military variation Land Nav and some basics of the wild. I need to learn civilian skills on this and practice. I dont like to rely on batteries for a PLUGR, DAGGR or any other GPS device nor the laziness of it, however it is easier to work smart and not hard. I understand under extreme duress math and orientation get foggy. I look foreword to the next one.

Dang! Stole my thunder, bro! Exactly where I was going next. Great graphics, too! Will you please answer this question in part 2: Why are there 7-digits in a UTM Northing? I've been in every TM, FM, online, and I can't find the reason. It's the thing that effs me up trying to explain the difference between UTM and MGRS when reconciling grid accuracy. Why the odd number? Thanks!

It's Christmas, 2019. I've viewed Parts 1 - 3. I have searched in vain for 4 and 5. I have viewed hundreds of vids on "land navigation" and "compass navigation", and NO ONE has had such excellent diction, graphics, and structure to their instruction. I hope and pray you are well, sir. If not, woiuld someone please inform us? USAF E7 ret'd, 1984. 533rd Field Traning Detachment.

I believe you're confused, I said I would not like just yet because i would be the 666th. So i told him that I would come back, and i did, hit the like button, and i did. So sir if you could keep you're snide comments to your self it would be appreciated, at least un-till you read and understand the proper context of your response. Unless you're trying to sow striff, then i rebuke you for it brother. God Bless, In Christ, your brother Michael.
