😂😂😂 about the second time Dan tugs on his shirt, because it's way too small, I couldn't stop laughing. Dan is so willing to get his message across with his t-shirts, he doesn't even care if they fit. I bet he saw that shirt, but they didn't have it in his size, and he's like, I don't care, I gotta have it for one of my videos. Love the shirts man 😂 even if they don't fit.

Dan, you are the best because you are so relatable for hunters. I've had many similar experiences and I tell my story and people look at me like I did something wrong. Sometimes we do everything right, and it just doesn't work out. Sorry for the lost buck.

This is why Dan's video/stories are so valuable....Even HE has bad days out in the woods....Even HE has days when he sees nothing....I thought it was just me. Some people think that finding and killing a deer is easy. Those people aren't hunters. Even Dan's failures are valuable because of what we can learn from them.

Dan, this very thing just happened to me Wednesday night. My arrow hit good, huge mule kick but I stuck it in the opposite shoulder. No blood for the first 50 yards, no arrow, no hair. But huge amounts of blood out of both sides for about 125 yards and then the blood disappeared 20 yards into a bean field. I have been waiting years for a shot on a big buck. I have not given up the search. Best of luck to you on yours.

Dan ive been hunting my grandmother's 40 acre property in NY for 10 yrs, we have had luck with 100" class bucks but only a couple in those ten yrs. We don't have many giants that exist. My first yr bow hunting in the 11th yr on the property I sat on a funnel that is just enough off the backyard to be low impact with a west wind, I hunted the same stand for the entire first 2 weeks of November with the correct wind knowing a big buck would eventually come through the funnel. It happened on the last morning of bow season at 830am and I took a rushed shot at 30 yards while he was walking. Easily a 140" buck. I knew it was high and back on the deer. But he could barely walk out of sight. We gave him 3.5 hours and then started blood trailing a ton of blood. After about 200 yards the blood turned into drips. 6 hours later and a mile up the hill on the other side of the valley we lost blood. The dog tracker didn't want to help. Which is understandable. I gave up hunting that yr and walked around wearing orange during gun just looking in the most likely places he would go. We even found one of his sheds while searching. He would have been the buck of a lifetime. I couldn't sit in the same stand like I did for that many days ever again.

Hey Dan, it sounds like if your camcorder has exposure settings that it is set too low. If you are running a Sony Handycam, see if you can reset in menu options or using a ballpoint pen. Not sure what model you have, but -> Press the PROGRAM AE button to set the IRIS (aperture), gain (ISO), shutter speed and exposure to [Auto].

Dan, I have the same camera and I can see that the ND filter switch on yours is set to auto, if for some reason that sensor is not working correctly, it could be turning on the ND filters. I would switch it to manual and try that. The other suggestion I have is, if the shutter speed (buttons under screen) is on manual it could be set really high and causing it to look so dark.

I would definitely not have the patience to try to video a hunt by myself, I'm just not that coordinated, even without a camera i have had big misses or bad hits on 2 very large bucks, 1rst one i missed a monster on opening day of gun season at 60 yards broadside with my dads old smoothbore 16 gauge shout gun with a slug like a dummy i hadn't shot the gun before i went, just young and dumb.never made that mistake again .2nd one i was crawling up in a ladder stand beside on the edge of a logging road in extreme northern Missouri.( 15miles south of iowa line) the tree was small and the wind was blowing it back and forth and out dteps probay at least a 170 inch buck broadside at 100 yards tried ty time my shot with the wind when i came across his shoulder area. and hit him square in the belly. he ran downhill 200/300 yards barely any blood at all jumped fence onto neighbor's land that absolutely refused to let me look. this was with my 50 cal. muzzleloader.a i got was a pile of corn where he had been standing. heartbreaking

Sounds like hunting. Always sucks to wound the animal and not be able to find it. I was confident in finding the 6 point i just shot. Tracked it on very pressured public for 5 or 600 ysrds jn circles from it cetting bumped over and over. Never once laid down. Finding big blood clots then small pen tip drops back to big bright red blood then back to no blood and finding just a single track i even followed the dried mud from him tunning through the clear cut. And then i found one foot print with mud and blood where he slipped in it abd sdter that it was 0 blood every where i looked i searched and searched unyil i ran out of light and time

Hunting is a solo sport to me too. Even growing up I would hunt with my dad and from 14 yrs old on, we drive in together and get to the woods and go opposite ways, meet back at the truck for lunch or whatever the plan is. Too many shows or channels show guys sitting in a blind with the whole family chuckling and goofing around and still the corn field has 10 does in it, that's not real life for 99% of hunters .

I have been watching your hunting videos for a long time now. I notice that your self filmed 🎥 hunts are not real high quality compared to other KZbin hunters. From my experience watching your videos you have alot technical issues as well. I realize it's very difficult doing self filmed hunts. I have very simple solution that I always wanted to ask you? Why don't you just ask your friend Garrett Parhl who does the DIY SPORTSMAN CHANNEL on youtub. His self filmed hunts video quality is second to none from my experience. Plus he's a engineer very smart guy just my POV. I also realize he uses a tree saddle instead of a hang on tree stand but nevertheless his advices would help you improve your experience regardless.

@@mntnfalkon9943 Good hunting techniques on public land? Not only deer hunters use that, there are bird hunters, waterfowl hunters, squirrel hunters even people just walking their dogs.
