I usually use a longer arching seven beats before the boomdidiboomboom. But that's just me. Hold Blue Lake for a total of four counts, and Rocky Shore for three. Makes for some great harmonies.

I went to brownies and girl guides in Terrace Bay (shore of Lake Superior) and Elliot Lake between Sudbury and Sault Ste Marie in the 50s and early 60s. We learned this song and sang it all the time. I may have flubbed my chocolate blanc mange. I maybe couldn't knit worth a darn. I even failed how to tie and fly the Union Jack here in Kingston, but I'll tell you one thing: I remember learning this song. My children played a lovely version on the piano. I used to say to my son: O.K. Moose wander because there are a few chords just before you sing "Land of the Mighty Moose" and he'd do the chords like a wandering moose. The piece is in a Royal Conservatory grade 2 book, I think. Did you see where that music teacher is suing her principal and vice-principal because they are accusing her of being racist for teaching this song? The world's gone mad.
