Land of Women stars Eva Longoria as Gala, a New York empty nester whose life is turned upside down when her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties, and she is forced to flee the city alongside her aging mother (Maura) and teenage daughter (Bazúa). To escape the dangerous criminals to whom Gala’s now vanished husband is indebted, the three women hide in the same charming wine town in northern Spain that Gala’s mother fled 50 years ago, vowing never to return. The women seek to start anew and hope their identities will remain unknown, but gossip in the small town quickly spreads, unraveling their deepest family secrets and truths.

Well, that name is misleading. Given the name, I expected either: 1. A couple somehow gets transported to a world where there’s only women. During the journey throughout this new world, the husband learns how to speak and treat his wife (or girlfriend) better. Or 2. A couple somehow gets transported to a world where there’s only women. It turns out that if the guy stays there, he will slowly become a woman. During the journey, he learns about the everyday struggle being a woman. By the end of the series, they either stay in the New World or they return to their old world, he becomes much more conscious of the woman around him so that they can have a little bit of a better day.

Please this looks like a cheap netflix film. Apple has a class. Dont be genaralist. Be different and deliver premium. I like other original shows from Apple TV coz they dont have generic stories like Netflix. This is also why HBO is different. I thought Apple has its own style of TV. Please don't be netflix. I love Eva Longoria's acting, however I don't speak Spanish so I'm disappointed after seeing the 1st episode. I hate having to read subtitles. I read she didn't even learn to speak Spanish until 2009, so I suppose she made this to connect with her roots? I guess she will still get half the country to view it since half of the US now pretty much are Spanish speakers, but she could have had an even broader audience if it was mostly in English. I for one won't be watching the other episodes!
