The question of land ownership in South Africa has been a mainstay of the liberation struggle from the very beginning of colonialism to the end of apartheid.
It remains a talking point decades after the advent of democratic South Africa.
Terms often bandied about include security of tenure, trusteeships, and tribal lands under the custody of traditional leaders, among others.
Director and Head of the Land Reform Restitution & Tenure Practice at Werkmans Attorneys' Bulelwa Mabasa discussed the importance of land.

Africa is a very big country. Africa is able to accommodate Europeans and Asians but still have more than enough space. Africans must get their Land back and worry about secondary things later.

The secondary thing you'll have to worry about will be famine. Family and education should be primary, not wanting free things. Just like giving you a law firm doesn't make you a laywer, giving you farm doesn't make you farmer.

Research shows that there's an influx to urban areas, so generally people prefer congested city life with opportunities instead of the spacious rural life with little opportunities. If land was a factor rural people would've used the land for farming instead of migrating to cities looking for jobs. These facts exposes the 'we want land' argument to what it is; political dribble. If the useless ANC gov didn't disband trade schools, maybe townships would've been a nice place to live with infrastructure built by the skills learned at said trade schools, but unfortunately the ANC want dependant voting cattle not an empowered people.

Most Black people don't want land, they want money, they want farms already in operation, they want to buy a Mercedes Benz and the latest designer shoes with a white man's name on it. Give land to people who want to farm and have the capacity, create developments, mines and tourism attraction sites and create jobs, if a white people has that capacity, he deserve his land, if a Black person has that capacity, he deserve land. Lots of farm land given to Black people have failed, why, you gave land to the wrong people just because they were black.

Before the borders I recall the North being the Transvaal consisting of now separated Provinces - Similar to the Soviet Union and the 13 British colonies in America . . .
