Nothing like V6 Essex power. LOVE the howl - fondly remembered from childhood and also later a career in the Fire Brigade with a XR6 Sierra - 230 KM/h+ and the big old hunk of V6 Essex iron up front howling like a mad banshee... good times.

To quote Brian Johnson: 'My ass would have been going like a Rabbits nose.' BTW, I would love one.

What an unusual conversion, I've not heard of that ever done before. Do you know why he chose that?, It's not a common engine to find, even back then...

My friend passed two years ago l saw the drawings of the crank spacer and the fly wheel housing had to be turned to clear the starter from the right hand manifold the clutch plate was 50 % uprated. The tyres were shot in no time . But dam good fun . The vehicle went to Cornwall from sheffield

That high pitched gear box noise brings me back to when my dad took me out in his rover he’s trying to sell it and I don’t want him to. so I’m trying to convince him to let me have it as he wants my mx 5 which he’s on my insurance for now. his is a 2.8 v6 cologne with a series 3 front a series 2 rear and I love it to bits and never want to see it go because I know the next person will either scrap it for parts or abuse it and it’ll end up in a skip. All the childhood memories of off-roading with my dad and going to Land Rover meets it’ll be too hard to see her go

Make sure you keep it, it'll still be going strong in another 50 years 😁

I think i would have touched cloth many times on that journey. But what a drive, what gearbox is in there?

I've had this car for 25 years and I nearly shit myself everytime I spank it. It's got the original series one box in it but series 2 axles with RRover diffs.

I love Series Land Rovers with a passion! They probably get better mileage than a Range Rover.

I used to go through half shafts every 6 months 25 years ago when I was younger and loved showing off doing wheel spins with 750 tyres. I bought it already fitted with series 2 axles, I've always run it on r.rover 3.5 diffs which lasted 2 or three years. However when fed power smoothly everything holds up, not had to replace any drivetrain in the last 10 years. Senility confirmed 😂
