Older defenders were often modified for longer beds or for more passengers, they were often referred to at 130s

How about a 10 year bumper to bumper warranty. Or maybe a collaboration with Toyota. One party could use the styling help and the other party could use the reliability help.
@ggolds59 ай бұрын
Definitely a longer warranty would make me feel less shaky about buying one.

I honestly got lost in the camera angles from the height of the interior that peered down over the precipice. Three angles to document the third row approach and landing was priceless. Kept me watching a product I’ll never buy and learning more than other reviews share. That third row was livable if I had a crowd to move around. Nice work‼️ 13:41

The 130 defender used to be made for utility companies and the like. They took a 110 chassis and added a bit. It allowed you to have a double cab and full size bed.
@tonykono5225 Жыл бұрын
But the real question is, would you buy one or just lease it for three years so you can avoid the expense repairs?

As always a practically concise review from Motoman. Thanks. One of the most practical vehicles sold today if the price is not an issue. Just to add that if bought with a 3.0 mild hybrid diesel it can easily average 30 mpg.

Sort of flat folding rear seats. Why didn't we get rid of those in the 80s? Many brands can indeed make them fold flat. How hard can it be? Do brands hate us, to make them sort of fold only? Those last 10 or 15 degree are priceless in usability.
@ruk2023-- Жыл бұрын
The name makes a lot of sense to me. You have the 90 and the 110 and then you just add another 20 to get the 130. I love the defender but from the rear three quarters this one looks a bit too much like a school bus.
@MIZUNOMP60 Жыл бұрын
You can option it as a five seater giving you a flat floor to the second row and slightly more cargo space. If you want nice leather in the rear seats to match the front seats it's an upcharge under "extended leather package" Yikes! HUD and Adaptive Cruise Control are optional upgrades too!
@Cloxxki Жыл бұрын
Does the second row actually fold flat, as in level? That would be huge to me.
@MotoManTV Жыл бұрын
Not completely flat but close.

So ashame that Land Rover is bottom of the top 20 auto makers that sell in the US around reliability. (JD Power) I literally started to order one and with an 18 month wait and a $10,000 over MSRP required by the dealerships in Houston TX, I did a lot more research and just gave up on it. Talk to people that have them. That's what I did. I just ordered a luxury SUV from a more reliable competitor around the middle of the reliability list.

What's the difference between this p400 and the 130 X?
@MotoManTV Жыл бұрын
The X adds more equipment and changes the trim - as it does with the 110.

They should have packaged the spare underneath… or option to eliminate and have a patch kit..
@3204clivesinclair Жыл бұрын
Land Rover market it as a off roader. Reason the spare is on the rear, is so it can be accessed, if off road and unable to access under the vehicle. Same as a G Wagon, Land Cruiser, etc.

Dealers in Sarasota Fl, stated that after 5 years, Land Rovers are worth nothing in trade. That after 5 years you must get ride of it. Why would you buy one if the dealerships are declaring them junk.

Why climb over the second row seat when there is a lever to pull the seat forward to climb into the rear row?😅
@air-headedaviator1805 Жыл бұрын
Impossing and impressive, tho I can’t imagine the full utility of the extra seating being ever utilized for the supposed off road capable mission. I guess its not fair to say that having the option isn’t nice, but it screams “more is more!” mentality where folks buy something for excess. But then again, I’m not the target market.

The quiet part no one talks about: Outside of an outliers outlier, NONE of these are taken off road. The most dirt they see is the trailhead to Crater Lake.

There better 3-row choices out there. This vehicle is designed for Brits, who'll buy anything as long as it has nice materials. Just ask JayEmm.
@Cloxxki Жыл бұрын
More or less the price of a Rivian. What is Landrover/Jaguar to do when they (soon, supposedly) go full electric? They'll need to do so much better than I-Pace did, and that wasn't even amazing for its time. Anything less a drivetrain than Rivain or Lucid not offer, even if simplified, would be a defeat, right?
@mikemaslanka3786 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the excellent review but I wouldn’t have one due to reliability reputation. These premium auto makers have to improve in that area.
@MotoManTV Жыл бұрын
A hugely valid point. And one of the reasons I own a Lexus.The good news, even amongst all the complexity in modern luxury cars, there is some movement on making at least parts of them more reliable. Case in point: The Mercedes 48V Mild Hybrid System. Replaces the entire accessory drive with an Integrated Starter Generator.
@Origen17 Жыл бұрын
Looks pretty sharp, but the back seat is kind of ridiculous. Just make it a large hauler SUV and don't pretend to be a 7 passenger people mover.
