Lovely example of probably the best Land Rover ever made. I was in the Army when the Wolf was being introduced, such a step up from what came before. Bloody quick as well, they had to put limiters in them to stop squaddies doing silly speeds in them, bolt through the throttle pedal.😁😁

Honestly - you barely notice it behind the landy, all those slippy shot Rich took had me smiling from ear to ear as the trailer took it in it’s stride lol Only casualty was the intake filter for the heater as I had set it when I had smaller wheels on .. since relocated

Lilly, i have been watching your camper build... whilst I agree a Landy is a great vehicle... there are many things you could do to your van to make it more capable. simple wheel/tyres and suspension upgrade would make that a 2wd beast for 80% of area's you would want to go

In austria you could get a Jimny or a Niva, A full size person will fit inside to sleep comfortably and they are just as - if not more capable then most land rovers

Relining your brakes is a simple job even for a home mechanic, and should be cheaper than changing the whole shoe if you do it yourself..(It is a little time consuming, which is probably why it is expensive to have them done). The advantage is that you can carry spare linings with very little space and weight.

great stuff. i always wonder why people don't use drop down /fold out bunks in small spaces like that, suppose you lose the underbed storage for what you gain in living space.
@overlandingwolf
@overlandingwolf 3 жыл бұрын
Actually I considered this as an alternative to the drawer system as it would actually mean load space would be massive To put it simply, I weigh 20st and a fold down bed system would need to be attached to the bed rather than the canopy due to this. So I madesure the bed foam is removable so I can still use a significant amount of space for Transport. Currently I use it to bring my 9x9 and the table & chairs

Excellent video, very well thought out build, and good on you for not interrupting Tim and letting him walk us through it. One thing that I might have missed - can the trailer stand alone without being hitched? I always thought that was the big appeal of these trailers vs a roof tent or camper van build - you can set up camp and then drive off to the pub without packing everything away!
@overlandingwolf

Yep, absolutely the trailer can be dropped off and stand alone, space was at a premium where we filmed and I arrived late in the evening - so just hopped in the back when I was tired

Check out my insta bud, honestly I didn’t design on paper - I had a vision of what I wanted and went with it… things changed as I progressed. Basic measurements are - 750mm high - 1880(ish)mm long and however wide the Sankey is The side panel has a 500mm front support with the rest of the span open Materials are 2020 aluminium extrusion with a 6mm slot, and 12mm ply rabbit edge to 6mm for the slots. The bed height was decided from the height of the wheel arches .. the bed width was 1200mm from the right side of the tub, this dictated the left wall for storage the inset for the drawers was my foot with a shoe on

Is there ventilation in the trailer? i would be concerned about CO2 build up otherwise.
@overlandingwolf
@overlandingwolf 3 жыл бұрын
Short answer is Yes, its not a 100% sealed canopy, i have managed water ingress by shaping the hatch seals etc to direct it away. I do have a seal kit for it in the future however i plan to install a vent and wont seal it fully till the vent is in. . I also have a CO2 meter and alone the CO2 rate is only about 1000ppm and 10k is where things get dicey

Hi bud, the extrusion is generic from a company called KJN - ordered online. The resin is long curing cast resin so it “floats” into cracks and seals effectively - glass fibre wasn’t worked in as it wasn’t required for rigidity only to seal and protect the wood

@@Bugoutvehiclesuk I'm not 'picking fault', I just pointed out that some points are inaccurate. Here are some of them - The timing cover is vented through the Component Vent system (banjo bolt on top). The axles are vented not the diffs. The Webasto is a 9.1Kw (max) unit not 12Kw. (Model: Thermo 90SD). The axles are connected to the external vent via the Component Vent System. The fuel tank is the only vented part which is added to the Component Vent System using the blue/red tube switch. It is designed for operation at down to -46 degrees C The centre dash 'pod' is not fully waterproofed hence the need fo a cover. You cannot see the warning lights when the dash cover is installed.
