So is this D2 all stock or has it been lifted. I have the same and just wondered whether or not I at least need to lift it say by 2" but otherwise keep it stock before I head off road?

Hi, this D2 has the original stock chassis. It helps a bit that the car is on tall 235/85 R16 tires. I may raise the chassis 2" later, but for now I need to invest in more important things to get this D2 in perfect condition. You can go off-road, but be careful not to wreck the car. Watch the chassis. Also, if you have the original plastic bumpers, make sure you don't crack them unnecessarily. Better to replace them later with steel strength bumpers. Just remember in the field that any damage costs a lot of money in repairs 😉 I want to make the car more expedition style and travel.

@@OutOfTheWay4x4 Thanks for that. Yes I just want to do a mild and gentle bit of off roading with the grand children, nothing too severe. I used to green lane a lot when I was living in a different area years ago where Ivknew all the tracks but that was with an old Landrover series 3, wasn’t sure how capable a standard D2 was until I saw your video. Now I know what it can cope with I can be a little more adventurous than I thought. I’m looking to join a local group and trust their knowledge as to which trails would be suitable for me plus there’ll be someone to help out if I bight off more than “Duke” can chew! ;-)

good. a bit too hard for suspension and down parts, but overall it's good. i don't think i would drive my cr-v with you on this trip... 😊😊😊

Thank you 🙂 The Discovery has a front and rear rigid axle, that's different. A conventional axle like the CRV's wouldn't last long..

As the saying goes, the limits of a car end where the driver's fear of ruining the car begins. And the truth is, the CRV has no solid axles, no reduction gearbox and no permanent 4x4. Its ground clearance and approach angles aren't that great and it's not built on a frame. So I would have burned the clutch in that hill at the beginning of the video and ripped the bumpers off in that water channel. Maybe it could handle all that, the question is for how long. It would soon damage the axles. The Discovery is designed for all that. I've got a very nice CRV and I'd really wreck it like that.

It's all true Yes, you can also add details like: the rear axle silentblocks, I've just changed. The stabilizer sway bar link I throw away every 18 months! And even the paint touch-up pens, or the calipers that seize up in the mud. Not to mention the dented underside, which is too low indeed... But i like my crv... But you'd have to test it to see, the show must go on! When you've got some youtube money, find a 2nd crv in a car breaker to do these highly 'scientific' experiments!!

The 205 diesel is a good choice for poor car's off-roading, french-speaking youtube is full of them... Free lift kit, parts in all car breakers for brakes, engines and gearboxs upgrades, with other Peugeot-Citroën models, as with the CRV and other Honda models! I recommend watching the youtuber Baptiste Pitois, especially his gray 205 (then repainted beige), he's a boss! It would make great mechanical DIY videos, in addition to mud and bushcraft videos. Even if you shouldn't think about it like that for the money, I believe that with all this you can make your mark on youtube. In France, many people it started small...

​@@rayal4860Yes, I've come across that youtuber with the Peugeot 205 before.I used to have a 205 and I'm nostalgic about it. Great car. Now I've got a 206 and it's not as interesting. I didn't start making KZbin videos for the money, but I do have a family after all, so I need to get back at least what I put into it.

Je to tank..Fakt zvládla vše, co jsem s ní zkusil. Samozřejmě jsou tam daleko náročnější terény určené pro speciály. Ale to už je o zničení auta. Já jí chtěl hlavně otestovat a nějak pravidelně jí takhle trápit nechci. Chci jí dát fakt do kupy a mít jí spíše na cestování a expedice. No a na MT bych se nebál..Tohle jsou Cooper Discoverer AT3. Občas jsou užší a velké gumy v terénu výhodou. Ne náhodou se jezdilo Camel Trophy na vysokých úzkých gumách.

@Kikivon Tohle je offroad areál Babiny. Majitel je tam fajn, vždy mu jen řeknu, že dorazím. Nikdy nic není problém. Udělá ti kafe a zajezdí s tebou se svým MB G-Class.
